I think we should. America needed a little more Atticus Finch and a lot less kindergarten classroom (apologies to kindergarteners).

Actually I was married to a gaslighter, and Kavanaugh's testimony was like a bad trip back to my marriage. The minimizing (it was JUST beer, JUST the weekends), the bald faced lies (Renate was a good friend) the turning it around on the questioner (How dare YOU insinuate that I had sex with Renate!) the defiant anger in response to being asked questions that were directly related to the accusations, turning it around on Kolbuchar (do YOU? do YOU have a drinking problem?) It was classic. It was how lying liars lie 101.

Acting like it's inappropriate to inquire into his drinking and sexual proclivities when he has been accused of sexual assault while under the influence, classic, classic gaslighting. "I'm not going to let this be about what *I* did, I am going to turn it around on you, YOU are the problem here, YOU are the crazy and inappropriate one, you, You, YOU.

Problem is he isn't actually very good at it. My ex had more finesse that this guy.

Wow, such technique and such certainty. Do behavioral scientists know about this course about lying 101? Gosh we need to get this to the FBI stat! For certain this is much more reliable than a polygraph.

DP. And I think this forum owes BK an apology. We have been opening under the assumption he didin’t take one.

LOL! Oh, okay. Let’s hear your heartfelt I sowwys to Ford, Ramirez, etc.

Collins will announce her vote today at 3pm.

This seems like odd timing. I agree with McConnell that we need to have a vote. That will happen this morning. Then the actual vote will happen tomorrow (or Sunday). Why is Collins announcing mid-afternoon today?

To the GOP/Kavanaugh supporters, do you agree or disagree with this article?

How is this all going to end? I just want to know.

Entropy will result in the last star fading to black. The universe will be dark and lifeless for eternity.

Happy Friday Y’all!

Oh sorry. I forgot to mention cold. The universe will also be very, very cold.

I'm not an expert but it's pretty normal to announce your vote ahead of time, right?

John McCain's dramatic thumbs down made for great TV, but is it the norm?

I've actually read similar things written by psychologists about narcissists. And no it is not, as reliable as a polygraph. The most reliable way to determine if someone is lying is to see if someone's story meshes with know facts and other people's stories. For example, if you claim to not have engaged in underage drinking, but wrote on your calendar that you were having beer with your friends when you were 17, this suggests you may be lying about your drinking habits. Sometimes it takes many hours of interview by trained investigators to determine in this way if someone is lying. If only we had some kind of national investigation agency with investigators trained and well-practiced in investigational interviews. If he had such a thing, I would only imagine that paragons of honesty like Kavanaugh and Trump would be happy to talk to them so they can clear their names of all the false accusations against them both.

Ouch. This from a paper that endorsed Thomas.

And every other conservative nomination for 100 years.

Kavanaugh incorrectly believes a confirmation clears his name.

That made me feel better. I saw Hamilton last month and ever since I've envisioned my great grandkids going to the theater to see "2016 The Musical."

Kavanaugh is no Tom Robinson. Be ashamed.

Kavanaugh is one or both of the Ewells -- Mayella when he's crying and Bob when he's yelling. But, remember, the stacked jury found in favor of the Ewells.

Question for the BK supporters. Do you really think he's the right choice for the Supreme Court or do you just want to "win"?

Protestors drinking PBR and chanting "Chug, chug, chug" in front of Mitch McConnell's house this morning. I love this.

Ashamed of the belief in the foundation of our legal system of innocence until proven guilty? Never.

I have no doubt that something terrible happened to Dr. Ford. I watched her testimony, and I feel sympathy for her. I really do.

However, there is absolutely no evidence that Judge Kavanaugh did anything to her. You are letting your emotions take over your rational thinking.

Manchin says he's not going to announce his vote ahead of time.

He's waiting to see how everyone else votes. If it looks like Kavanaugh's a No, he'll vote No. If it looks like Kavanaugh's a yes, he'll vote Yes. He doesn't want to be the tie-breaker (neither do the other undecideds).
