Let's play the hypothetical game: What if we learned that a man in his 50s raped a girl when they were in high school, then he blackmailed her into having an abortion?

What if we learned that a man in his 50s had consensual sex with a girl which resulted in a pregnancy when they were in HS. The man pretended he didn't know her when he learned of the pregnancy, and she was so humiliated she killed herself.

Would these be things you might find relevant? If so, how about we wait and find out what is in that letter before deciding it's NBD.

1. I’d say it would be very hard to determine whether a rape actually occurred 30-35 years ago and that an allegation surfacing now is highly suspect. I’d also think that a rapist would be in no position to blackmail the pregnant victim; if anything, the pregnant girl would then have leverage to blackmail the perpetrator.

2. I’d say the boy was a cad as a youth, but that it’s irrelevant to an assessment of his current qualifications decades later.

How about you just admit you and others would say anything to try and keep Kavanaugh off the Supreme Court?

I’m curious if you’re one of those so called “law and order” types who always wants black teens tried as adults for their crimes. I’ve noticed that white boys tend to be “misguided” or “cads” to those folks, but black teens are hardened criminals.

This whole episode has really made the Democrats appear even more desperate than they already appeared.

DP. i read this on several sites--I think one was WAPO.
FBI does not have jurisdiction on this. It would be a local matter--at least, I guess it would be if we knew where, when, and what happened. The only thing I've read was pretty juvenile and certainly does not rise to an investigation of any type. Desperation and embarrassing on the part of Feinstein.

Also embarrassing for the woman who allowed herself, albeit anonymously, to be convinced to be used as a pawn in such a ridiculous way.

We don't know what she means when she said she was locked in a room by a bunch of high school guys. As a woman, my first thought is it means they locked her in the room with them, and she felt they intended to rape her - and luckily managed to escape. I don't have those details of course but it's hard for me to imagine that if it was just a silly prank like pps are suggesting that she'd send a litter to her elected representatives about it.

Wow. That's really what you'd say?

Something seriously wrong with the guy. Why did he bring alll those kids to the courtroom. Daughter and classmates? Trying to shame people from asking about most likely shameful views/incidents. So odd and such a ploy to get people to keep talk PG.

Just when you think they can't go any lower.....

Who is going lower? Do you know who sent that to Collins' office? Sounds like a GOP stunt to discredit Kavanaugh's opposition.

Oh, sweetie. You know as well as everyone else exactly who sent that - and the other disgusting messages - to Collins' office. Your liberal buddies. Now run along and don't come back unless you have something of substance to contribute.

Oh, sweetie. Remember the “rape Melania” sign? That was two Trump cultists trying to make protesters look bad.

Feinstein’s no dummy. She wouldn’t have done anything with it if she didn’t think there was something there.

If this were to happen today, there would be nothing to press charges on, regardless of what the "victim" perceived to be the intent.

More in the New Yorker. I don't think there is enough for anything to come of it, but it is pretty standard for boys who go to schools like Prep and Landon.
