Yes.

Except he tried to blame it on some random pack of hippies.
I have always been intrigued by his story.

That said, it also makes me uncomfortable to "convict" him of all 3 murders based on the fact that he had an affair and talks like he's a redneck.
We have no idea what happened. She was a victim but we have no idea what she did or didn't do either. She obviously wasn't 100% forthcoming in
the picture she portrayed of her life. Just because she was murdered doesn't grant her sainthood (or not). We.just.don't.know.
That's all I'm saying. I get squeamish when people convict others based on their gut instinct---even a likely scum like him. We weren't in the house that morning. Everyone is innocent until proven guilty.

Maybe his pregnant wife strangled the children and then she strangled her own self before he could stop her. He buried her body and threw the children's bodies into the oil tank because he didn't want her parents and friends to be devastated over what she had done. Maybe he's totally innocent, right? You know, like OJ.

Maybe the girls strangled each other. Then the mom found them and drove them to the oil tank and threw them in.

She drove home and woke him up and tried to strangle him.

He then strangled her in self defense, and he coincidently tried to hide her body in the same area.

It's interesting that his lawyer asked for the kids' necks to be focused on in the autopsy. Why would they ask this unless they know that her DNA would be on their necks and the indentations/bruises from strangulation would match her hand/finger size.
UGH.
We have no way of knowing if they were both psychopaths or just him.
What we do know is that nothing she posted about on social media matched reality: their marriage, him, their finances---they were all a farce. For all we know she wasn't the doting mother and innocent victim either.

She is dead, you asshole. She is the victim, not him. He's trying to throw his guilt into question by blaming her for the kids' deaths. He could very easily have called 911 if she was harming their kids, but that's not what happened.

He killed her.
You have ZERO knowledge of who killed those kids unless you were in the room.

I hope you're never on a jury or have to make a decision based on facts and not emotion.

So you think that he DIDN'T kill the kids and yet dumped them in the oil barrel? I hope you never have to make a decision based on deduction and logic.

DP here. To any objective bystander there is no alternative explanation for why he would try to hide the bodies if he didn't kill them himself. But the defense will try to cast doubt on that and confuse the jury, and all you need is a consensus of reasonable doubt (reference the Casey Anthony trial). This is assuming no other forensic or other type of evidence turns up to corroborate him murdering the girls (which it probably will since he has already proven not very careful in covering his tracks). And assuming he/his family will be able to pay for top-notch legal representation.

I really don't care what can and can not be used in court. He's a white guy who killed his family, so I'm sure he'll get a very light sentence. That doesn't make him innocent. He's clearly evil.

That is the rumor Mens right groups are spreading as well so they can grossly attack & blame the woman, pure 100% BS. Bet we find out he killed the kids before she even got home.

+1. You know he was having an affair, right? That has actually been confirmed. I’m guessing those kids were dead when she got home. He made sure she saw them and then he killed her. He didn’t want a family he wanted whatever strange he had on the side. He was trying to say she took the kids and left him bc he said he wanted a divorce.

Holy crap. I can't believe people were right about the affair. I mean - him having one.

Investigators said Watts was involved in an affair that he had previously denied in interviews, according to affidavit.
Watts told police the strangulation took place after he told his wife he wanted a separation, court papers said.

I read a British study of family killers that typed them into 4 types. One was men who only see economic value in things, including their family members. Those types have perfect looking families, flashy cars and fancy houses, affairs because they’re basically narcissists. He definitely seems to fit the mold. It’s when things start to crack that they murder the whole family. The study also found a trend of people murdering their kids in August when school is out, and the most common day of the week was Sunday. Creepy.

This reminds me of Christian Longo who also killed his wife and kids. He too was a very good looking mam.

The same exact choking excuse and the financial problems, 100% reminds me of Longo.

He is good looking and was having an affair on the side, in addition to financial problems and another baby on the way with his wife. She leaves at home with the two girls in August, and...

Based on...? Scott Peterson is white and he's on death row for killing his pregnant wife. White privilege only gets you so far in life.

Do you know what Watts has been charged with? First degree murder -- 5 counts! That's the most serious penalty available under the law. If he gets convicted he will get life in prison or death penalty. There's not going to be a "light sentence" option. The only other possibility is he gets off for the girls' murders and some lesser sentence for tampering with bodies which there is ample evidence of him doing plus a sworn confession. It's also still unclear how he plans to plead the charges for the wife's murder, but he's admitted he killed her with his hands so...

Anyway my point was that while it's not at all plausible or logical that someone would hide their kids' bodies after the other parent killed them, his lawyers will try to paint that picture and there is always a chance it could sway the jury if the rest of the evidence is questionable.

I'm not defending him, I think he murdered them all and it's unacceptable no matter what his reason is. I'm guessing the prosecution will have more evidence than what's been disclosed - first degree murder means you basically think he was lying in wait.

I didn't say it was identical - just that there are parallels.

So here’s a question; I always hear defense attorneys justify their jobs by saying everyone deserves due process. Which is true. But what normal human could represent this POS and his insane story? He killed a pregnant woman and is throwing her under the bus for the deaths of their 2 children. It’s inhuman, which we know he is. But the defense? How can they float this??

If the government can't prove their case, the government can't prove their case.

I cannot find the statistics, but I read once that women were more likely to kill through asphyxiation, either smothering or drowning. Strangulation is less common as a way for women to kill. I don't buy his blaming her at all.

As someone mentioned earlier, if he loved his kids and didn't kill them, he would be simply incapable of disposing of their bodies in such a callous manner as if they were trash.

Anyone innocent person who loses their kids so suddenly and tragically is unconcerned with a jail sentence. If he loved his kids and he didn't kill them, the rest of his life would be jail sentence whether he was in prison or not.

No one does.

His smiling ass during the interview makes me sick.

He will plead temporary insanity.
