Fewer boys are recruited to row in college than girls because schools have to balance proportional guy scholarships vs. girls under Title IX. Some schools still recruit guys -- think Ivies and a few other...check out NCAA website. And, yes, a guy would have to have a faster erg score than 7:20 for a 2K!

Yes -- fewer boys are recruited for rowing because football has so many recruits that there has to be a girl sport(s) to balance those big numbers under Title IX -- rowing is the way to provide proportionality under Title IX.
