“I suggest this full-bodied red with notes of Rohypnol” |
Just saw Aaron Smith-Levin's video about Ashton and Mila's letters. How disgusting. I hope they both get canceled. |
It's just completely insane that Ashton and Mila's letters talk about how against drugs Danny is. Wasn't he convicted of drugging and raping those women? Like what? I'm flabbergasted. |
What is Billy’s connection to him? |
He's married to Chyna Phillips, Bisou's sister. So they are in-laws. |
It’s their way of saying he’s innocent without actually writing - these women are liars, this is a wrongful conviction. |
Scientology's whole MO is getting dirt on people to blackmail them. That's what they do in their stupid auditing sessions. I wouldn't be surprised if this was pure blackmail. |
Oh duh, totally forgot about that! |
Also I meant to say Bijou but autocorrect had already given me a hard time with Chyna, so... |
How can they think that this will be okay for their careers though? |
Ashton and Mila are not scientologists. But I do think Danny has stuff on them. |
They just posted an instagram video trying to explain themselves. Mila sounds like an automaton - not authentic at all. Ashton comes cross more real. Both looked like they rolled out of bed to tape it. Not great. |
It was awful. I don't know what their PR team was thinking. Mila says their hearts are with all sexual assault victims, instead of apologizing directly to Danny's victims for re-traumatizing them. The comments section was lighting them on fire and then they turned off comments. They are toast. |
Wow their video is awful and comes off as totally disingenuous. It's very obvious they were given a script and forced to do it, and Mila in particular looks like she cannot wait to get it over with.
I also found her "our heart goes out to anyone who has ever been a victim of sexual assault, rape, etc." (can't recall exact quote but that's the wording she used) to just feel really... insincere? Intentionally worded to not specifically address the women who actually accused Masterson? Not actually remotely meaningful to me as a survivor of sexual violence? All of the above I guess. Look, I didn't really care about these people before this whole thing but I find their involvement extremely weird and their behavior makes no sense for people who I'm sure are being advised by PR people, lawyers, agents, etc. I was once asked to provide a character letter to someone who I felt confident had done what they were accused of (this was in an academic setting, not for a court), and even though I don't think this person was a terrible person, I declined to do so because... why? He did something wrong, he can face those consequences. It's not my job to get involved and help him out. I wished him luck and moved on with my life. None of the other peers from That 70s Show wrote letters, btw. A couple of the older actors, now in their 70s. None of the others who were Danny's peers at the time, including Topher Grace and Laura Prepon. I get why he wouldn't ask Wilmer Valderama (has his own issues with sexual assault) but Grace and Prepon are relatively successful, prominent actors. I'm guessing there are reasons he either didn't ask them, or they declined to do so. Ashton and Mila could have been in the same category. Just be quiet and let him deal with it himself. |
Wholeheartedly agree with all of this except I bet they aren't toast. They are rich and well connected and as is always the case, most people don't care about this. It will be in the news for a few days and then people will move on, and one or both of them will make some buddy comedy or a reality show or remake Airplane or something, and people won't care anymore. There won't be any longterm consequences for them. |
