| Anyone know what happened to Sonja financially or what her deal is? She has to receive decent alimony as I assume she had a prenup and made sure that was included. Her daighter's school is paid for. What's the problem? |

Wow, this recent episode was nuts!
John- his joke about the phone being moist was both incredibly inappropriate and made no sense. I would be SO embarassed if I was Dorinda! Bethenny- Her behavior is SO awful. Laughing out loud at LuAnn like that? Who acts like that? I'm glad LuAnn called her out on it, but really, it's like B has no manners at all. You can think it but you don't say those things. And on the previews for next week she shames LuAnn's dating habits. Really? I'd throw her out if I were Dorinda. She's horrible. They shouldn't let her act like that with no consequences. |

For all Luann’s flimsy-floozy ways, she is actually a good mentor for Sonja in one very important way: Luann has MOVED ON from her divorce. She collected herself and her alimony, and forged ahead, managing both her assets and her new circumstances, shrewdly. She has not dwelled. She sold her big Hamptons house, her plush apartment, found new friends, decided to rent, then focused on building her own life without living in the past. It's admirable and kind of refreshing to watch.
Something BETHENNY, for all her successes, has not managed to do at all. Luann has leveraged her misfortune into an opportunity to begin anew; Bethenny and Sonja have projected their misfortune as an excuse and burrowed into frozen ground. She isn't dwelling on anything. |
Yeah...no. I know each of these women has to sow conflict to stay relevant and interesting, but Bethenny set out to deliberately and thoroughly demean and humiliate Sonja. As she's said repeatedly, it wasn't in the interest of protecting her brand, it was entirely personal. Carrying the rant forward into Dorinda's party was ruthlessness without purpose. But then again, the show is part of her income and she has no reason to be around any of these women except to cut them down. Maybe it's her therapy. She definitely needs some. |

I refuse to watch this show any more. Bethenny is just a horrific bully. She is just mean for the sport of it. I suppose Andy Cohen finds it entertaining but she has crossed the line to cruelty.
Go away Bethenny. |
Quick overview - she invested in a movie, movie didn't get made, she was sued for millions of dollars, she lost and had to pay. She also generally makes bad financial investments, toaster oven anyone? |

SO OVER BETHENNY.
So, Beth, you call LuAnn--a divorced, single woman--a "slut" for dating and having sex? What do you call a married woman whose divorce is not yet final, carrying on about town? What do you call a woman who, the moment she divorced her first husband, took up with a friend of his who was so close to her ex-husband that he was in their wedding? Hmm? |
|
Bethenny's problem with Luann is that she is a hypocrite. Lu is much COOLER this year but in the past she would pearl clutch at everyone else's behaviour but the open secret word on the street is that Lu and her photog ex had an open marriage yet Lu didn't want that brought up... wanted to judge others... now that Lu has moved on and is dating up a storm (to put it politely) Bethenny is horrified that this person who does not show restraint is 'coaching' Sonja.
As for moving on with divorce, Bethenny's divorce is dragging because of the financials- the settlement. The interpersonal/emotional/coparenting is a done deal. Lu's dragged as well... for years it wasn't addressed although her husband and her were clearly not a couple... Lu's divorce only got started and continued officially when her ex met his current wife and found someone to whom he wanted to be married. Sonja makes every bad financial decision out there and has a victim syndrome with everything... poor her with the money, and man situation. Re: Bethenny being 'mean'- she's being honest. I would have lol in her face as well for the 'I'm mentoring her' comments from Luanne, and others in the room did lol because she can't authentically 'care' for Sonja and express concerns, all while continuing to party with her. You can't fake a serious concern, but only help when it's convenient or makes you look good. It's like bringing whiskey and beer nuts to the intervention. |

Last night's episode was one for the books. I watched with a huge goofy smile on my face because I couldn't believe what I was seeing. The PATHOS on display this season!! Bethenny disappointed- she's so witty and razor sharp that it was sad to see her devolve to slut shaming a divorced single woman. We're better than that in 2016, Beth! I get it, LuAnn sucks for a lot of reasons, but calling her a whore doesn't address those and just makes you look bad.
Jules saying "My dad is like incoherent and I'm so scared" and LuAnn plopping down and firing up a Marlboro and saying, "Did you hear what she called me, that was terrible!" Oh my God it was amazing. "You can tell this is a sign of wealth, when they just wallpaper a closet." "Jules how do you spell pedophile?" "Carole, I'm sorry I called you a pedophile, hope you come to my next party." The best part had to be the time stamps on each scene like the camera people and editors were like "You can't even believe how crazy this shit was, it happened THIS FAST." All the drama we saw happened from like 3:40 pm to 7:30 pm that night. Hysterical. |
That whole episode was EPIC! Bananas! My mouth was hanging open when Jules was trying to talk about her sick father with LuAnn, who wouldn't shut up about her fight. My god, these women are too much. I did love it, though, in a can't-look-away way! |
^ again,--yes, more pathos than a Tennessee Williams play! |

I found it really hard to watch. There's no justification at all for Bethenny's behavior, starting with the way she very purposely picked a fight and then went on about how Luann made her behave like an asshole. She's clearly in some kind of emotional distress and, withall her money and success, can't afford a way to cope with it.
Weird how she felt ashamed of herself for ruining Dorinda's party and then justified it by saying she hates (being paid for the job of) spending time around people she can't stand. Not a fun spectacle to watch. |
In terms of HW canon this one will be legendary. Right up there with Scary Island and the dinner party from hell with Alison DuBois and her e-cigarette. |
| Also this episode was titled December: Berkshires County. Fanfuckingtastic, Bravo. As Ramona would say, Kadooz |

Oh come on....did you hear Luann trying to take credit for Bethenny's Skinny Girl? That would have sent me over the edge too if I was Bethenny. The funny part is that the whole initial "discovery" was caught on tape and replayed so we can all see what a BS'er Luann is.
I think that Bethenny had a few issues with Luann but was keeping them to herself, then when Luann made the comments about coming up with SkinnyGirl she lost her sh*t. I do think that Luann is pretty darn delusional. She's a party girl - just own it. Instead she tries to come across as this fancy, holier than thou...meanwhile she's partying like a rock star. I do agree that having Luann around Sonia is not doing Sonia any favors. It's like giving someone circling the drain permission to keep doing the things causing them to drown. Luann was brutal to Carole for no real reason and hasn't taken any ownership of her bad behavior...that said, Carole is starting to get on my nerves with her whole "I can't stay under the same roof as Luann" whiny baby comments. Grow a pair, Carole. What struck me the most about the episode was Ramona running around actually trying to help fix everything and doing a decent job calming everyone down. That's not typical of her at all. |
