I explained the physics of vibrations across floorboards a couple pages ago and you conveniently ignored that. You also never answered why you bothered to post if you didn't really want opinions. |
Not knowing about the physics of vibrations across floorboards does not make one disrespectful!! LOL! |
I also thought this was Chipotle Lady. |
Maybe they are very quiet conference calls. |
Nanny, you're absurd. I did this all the time as a kid. We also did it w/o boxes, just slide down the stairs on our bottoms or tummies. I'm a nanny and this is how I teach toddlers to go down stairs before it's safe for them to walk down (slide on tummies not in boxes.) If an older kid wanted to careen down the stairs in a box, and the stairs were unobstructed at the bottom, I'd have no issue with it. It's fun, and a hell of a lot safer than riding in a car or walking across a street. Seriously, pick your battles a little more wisely. |

Neither one of you who do stair sliding is very creative... a box isn't sturdy... your bottom or tummy... ouch... we always did pillows - the big bolster pillows when my parents were not home. Lots of fun. BUT, we lived in a single family house and I would never let my child do it. OP needs to get her kids out more - open gym's, bounce house, playground... sports activities to get the energy out. And, teach her kids NO and to be respectful. There needs to be come common sense when you are living in shared housing. Be considerate to your neighbors. If you want your kids to act out of control, move to the country where your nearest neighbors are a mile away. |
Well, if she asked for you to keep your kids completely silent, that is unreasonable. But you admit you just had a child over to your place who was a "screamer." So I don't think that it is unreasonable for her to ask you to try to keep it down. |
The public libraries I use don't allow cellphone use. |
Public libraries i have used have closed door single person desk areas. |
I live in Montgomery County, where the public libraries don't allow cellphone use at all. What you are calling "closed door single person desk areas" they call "quiet study rooms". Is OP's husband occupying a group study room all by himself? Libraries are full of odd people. |
If you were following the thread you'd see OP mentioning arlington's code so I assure you OP doesn't live in Montgomery county. |
The husband has conference calls at the library? So the entire family is entitled and disrespectful, I see… |
Where did OP say that? |
