Wow -- what a great (even if undocumented) claim! "Not #1 in murder." Congrats to the Church, whose savior is a humble carpenter who preached love and compassion.

Stalin, Mao....

Here's to the Catholic church -- not as evil as the despots Stalin and Mao

Not that PP, but is twisting her point the only retort you have? Why don't you try to defend your fellow atheists, Stalin and Zmao? Or can't you?

They are not fellow atheists. They are despots, irrespective of religion. - Their actions against humanity, which were not done in the name of their religious views, can't be defended.

Hitler was also a despot, who happened to be Catholic. His despicable actions were not done in the name of his religion, though his government did have the support of the Pope.

They had a well-defined value system in which atheism played a very important part. You know that, we all know that. So how about giving us a real answer instead if this childish rhetorical ping-pong you seem to be mired in?

That's rather controversial statement. Historians disagree on the role that Pius XXII had in WWII. Even John Cornwall, author of "Hitler's Pope" has walked back many of the contentions he made in that book. Meanwhile, Yad Vashem has considered John XXIII for honor as a "Righteous Gentile."

just because some catholic people disagree with it, doesn't mean it's controversial

Ooooh, good one.

Bonus idiot points for your claim that only Catholics disagree about Hitler.

We are not talking about "some Catholics," but historians who have spent a considerable amount of time studying the era, original documents, etc., and not just DCUM!

No.

It was part of their atheism.

Atheist despots are evil to promote their own ends. Religious despots do it for the Glory of God - and with God's blessing, at least in their minds. It's hard to know if God actually approves of despotism, because he doesn't speak out about it. But if a Christian despot wins, they assume that is God's way of voicing his approval.

Why are you afraid to give more than 9 words to the atheist despots? Why are you afraid to acknowledge that religious despots (you clearly have a chip on your shoulder about Christians, but this applies to all religions) are almost always going against the tenets of their own religions?
