The only thing that improves our timeline in getting back to somewhere near where we were when Biden left office is if we take action that results in Trump leaving office now, not in 2028. Right now it looks like we all are very complicit in what’s happening.

I think Carney's speech was very thoughtful. There has been a rupture in the international order. And nostalgia is not a strategy. There is no choice for countries but to decouple from the US and form new alliances and trade pacts. No Democrat can stop where the world is trending, which is to isolate the US as they do with Russia. In the end, China is the big winner in the new world - courtesy of the Republican Party.

Not if China assumes leadership. China increased it grid by 5% and reduced emissions by 6%. China’s grid is 4 times the US grids. Their exports of electrification is actually allowing the rest of the world to reduce greenhouse emissions. Even the Saudis are doing it. Why burn fossil fuels to generate power when you can make it with solar for free and sell the fuel to the US.

NATO countries without the US have a GDP of 27 trillion and a population of 610 million. I do not understand where people are buying the republican narrative that Europe is weak. Do you really think Russia with 1/5 of the population and a 1/14 of the GDP will dominate Europe?

European NATO(without the US) could easily build out a military that could defeat the US military. Remember the US can’t even replace the missiles used to save Israel from Iran. We used up a 1/3 of the missiles in under 8 days.

Russia is the odd country out trapped between China and Nato(without the US).
