I assume the pre-GA 2014 teams playing up 11v11 this year probably stay fairly intact when they become GA? What 2014s will join FVU? What 2014s become NVA?
loudoun will go NVA, first team. Second team stays loudoun with maybe a few newbies. FVU will have 4-6 valor and rest from everywhere else, maybe some 2013s come down. I’ve been surprised by how many have kids who will get recalibrated and push out kids who have been with the first team ie 2013s taking 2014 spots. This is going to get crazy real fast. People gonna be pissed.

Definitely will be interesting to see what happens with FVU and Valor. If FVU only gets a few Valor players, then neither team will be strong. But Valor could stay a strong RL team.

I thought all the McLean teams were moving to Fairfax Union. Last year, the entire McLean 2013 team moved there. Are they planning to do that again this year?
No. McLean gave offers to most of them to stay. Looks like McLean learned from their mistake last year.

Their current 2014 team already has 16 players, so does that mean there are not many spots for new players? How many players are they planning to roster for U13 next year 18-20?
Mclean? Correct, they are already set. Same as NVA.

I thought McLean has a few Q4 girls that can move down. I guess McLean won’t force it?

SYC has some Q4 girls. Not sure what SYC will do with all of them/will some be allowed to continue with 2014? Maybe 5 girls fall into this.

They could move some but don’t forget about 2013s joining 2014s

2014 teams are not set with the age change. They all probably have some 2013s moving down that they are looking at. Arlington is having inter-club scrimmages and making all the girls (even those already playing for Arlington) go to tryouts this year.

Don't forget they could be backfilled from the 4th qtr 2013s moving down to what would be a mostly 7th grade team next year.

I know that Loudoun/NVA, McLean, Arlington, and VSA/VDA are cleaning house now. They are very strict with age groups. Even if you are the best player, they will still cut you because of this new school-year rule. A lot of Q4 2013 players are getting pushed down.

”cleaninghouse”? They are aligning kids with the new calendar year to field the most competitive teams. Most are moving to age group unless you are related to MH at NVA.

your "pushed down" is my playing the correct age group. Not sure what the confusion is especially at the highest levels of big clubs.

seriously? I know someone on each of those teams that is already playing up, even before the SY change. That's not suddenly going to change for next year because of the SY change. Each of the clubs is going to put together the best team they can from the eligible candidates, and if that includes some Q4 2013s or Q4 2014s, then that's who will be on the team.

Our club's unstated policy is along the lines of 'no one plays up if they're not on the top team', so I expect to see some Q4 2013s move down based on that rule, but we'll see for the Q4 2013s who are already starters on the top team but could move down and become stars

Sounds like you are mostly talking about Loudoun/ NVA, which has the most “flexible perspective”. Clubs should require that you have to be on top team and top third, not just top team. Anyways, anyone in the know knows that these teams have set rosters already and tryouts are more of a formality. Most Q4 2013s already know if they will continue or play in next age group. I’ve been surprised by how many 2013s are actually going to be in the 2014 age group. Depending on how some of these clubs handle roster size, I think a lot of people are going to be shocked.

There is rich discussion on MV throughout these boards. Not sure I've ever seen a positive comment.
