The "they had it coming" people are pathological and morally sick. But it does explain why so many folks in DC just don't give a damn. And it's because of the cynicism and coldness of so many DC residents that a federal takeover is increasingly likely. The crime that progressives take as normal is not normal for the vast majority of human beings.

AKA exactly why DC needs to be federalized. The city is simply incapable of fixing itself.

This is the capital city of of supposedly the most powerful nation on earth. People shouldn’t have to live like the VC, the Taliban or some drone strike could be around every corner.

I have lived in the District (Adams Morgan/ Cleveland Park) for a total of 23 years. I 100% support federalization. Our local government officials are simply not bright enough to manage the problems.

Certain neighborhoods were “way” worse. But the way crime has been allowed to metastasize to all corners of the city represents a complete failure of government.

Let’s test Singapore tactics in smaller cities with much higher crime rates than DC.

Places like Myrtle Beach, Monroe, LA, Anniston, AL…basically every rural town in LA and AL.

If those citizens are fine with no guns, no chewing gum, no spitting, no alcohol after 10:30, et al…then we can roll it out to DC and larger towns.
