Grow up. The op isn’t “fixated” on this she is just inquiring into the parental mindset in allowing the dress.
The young girls are *trying* to sexualize their bodies. That’s the whole point of wearing shorts that look like underwear. It’s a normal part of adolescence, but it IS about attracting the leering glances of boys and men. In fact it is so obviously for this reason that the girls dress this way, that I find it strange when parents don’t question it- you have a duty to educate and set guidelines them in safety, academics, nutrition, good sleeping habits, safe sex, screens, financial independence…. But educating and setting guidelines for them in dress is being a “perverted creep.”
Got it. 🙄

THIS

Men take their shits off at the pool beach or lake .

Women should too because it’s not about sexualizing right?

Maga is so dumb

Exactly. Nobody wore those styles to school in any decade. And the current style that is the basis of this post is the butt cheek and butt crease are intentionally hanging out. Booty cleavage. It’s not just short shorts that we are talking about. Literally a#% cheeks hanging out- at school.

If you read FCPS “dress code” (if you even call it one) says buttocks must be covered. The shorts do not cover the buttocks, and these children should be dress codes. Schools are not even reinforcing the dress code, thanks to the extremely liberal school board and parents.

This is what we are talking about, which certainly should not be permitted in school. I’ve seen 20-30% of teen girls wearing this at a Region 4 FCPS MS/HS.

That’s pretty extreme. I have teen girls and while they do like their shorts short, none of them or their friends do what is shown in that image.

But as usual moms or younger kids and/oe boys are overreacting based on what they see online.

This is clearly some fashion trend? I thought modesty was trending, evidently not. Either sporty form-fitting spandex shorts (that leaves nothing to the imagination) or designer-looking cut-offs up to their lower butt cheek. Some girls looked elementary school aged riding electric scooters in booty shorts. What in the heck, do parents just not care anymore?

No MAGA "modesty is not "trending"

Go back to the hole you climbed out of.

MYOB and grow up.

I work on a college campus and there are b*tt cheeks out everywhere. Doesn't matter if the girls are fit or not. Yes, we wore short shorts and skirts when I was younger, but not with full on cheeks exposed. I don't want to see it.

I’m shocked that they would want to go to school and sit in close proximity to others with their butt cheek edges hanging out all day.

Thank God for uniforms!

And as others have said - not a class issue - fancy private school kids have them under their skirts, which come off the moment they get home, exposing their way too short shorts. I sigh because my older girls do this and now my 9 year old is rolling her shorts to make them shorter.

The girls at private schools wear their uniform skirts so short you can see their cheeks.

This. The Catholic school in my hometown was St. Gertrude and everyone (including the girls themselves) called them “Dirty Gerties.”

Oy vey, talk about a chip on your shoulder. Decades later you're still holding a grudge against and smearing all of those pretty, affluent, and proper Catholic girls. Yeah they're affluent and pretty... but... but... they were trashy drunken whores who hiked their uniform skirts up! Let it go.

Lol. There are a lot of things true about Catholic school girls but pretty, proper, and affluent isn’t it.

Outside of low income urban geographies, Catholic school families skew upper middle class, and their kids are more attractive on average. To blue collar and middle class kids, Catholic school families are the area's rich. It's why these miserable people hold grudges decades later. They remain jealous of the confident, sporty, affluent and outgoing Catholic boys and girls they grew up in proximity to.

What fantasy is this? The Catholic school by me is like $7k a year and has 30+ kids to a class.

I’m not a mom of younger kids. I have teens in middle and high school. I see this at their school in lots and lots of girls. Butts hanging out. It’s too much. Short shorts are fine and I have zero problem with them. I do have a problem with a$& cheeks hanging out at school.

Then take it up with the school board. The schools enforce no rules except telling students when they can and cannot use their phones.

The gym shorts I had in middle school and High school were short shorts.

It isn't just tweets and teens. 20-something's use a bandana as a top, with their butt cheeks falling out of their shorts. It's nothing new.

I think we need men to wear such a$$ cheek shorts just so everyone can see how ridiculous it is. And in most cases, quite horrifying.

So you’re saying the moms encourage their daughters to wear skimpy clothes to maintain their popularity?

Do they stop them?

Girls/teens/women and heck, men who show their butt cheeks are so trashy and attention seeking. It’s like they are auditioning for Only Fans.
