It's completely disgusting. Hope the vets realize that he has gutted funding for cancer research that specifically benefits them.

It’s not for them. It’s to celebrate him. It’s never been to “honor the military”. He saw North Korea and old Hitler reels and wanted a big salute with tanks for himself on his bday. Since his bday is Flag Day he tried to say it was about that and anniversary of Army.

MAGA are the rich in the US. Statistically, their income skews higher. They pretend to represent the little guy, but they are not the little guy. They are the "let them eat cake" folks of the USA.

Also, FWIW, it is the Navy AND Marines 250th bday this year as well. Thus far the only grand, North Korea style, parade, is planned for the day of Trump's bday (and again, the Army celebration was planned, but was never supposed to be this crazy expensive parade of military equipment until Trump took office). What a narcissistic megalomaniac!

Why do MAGAs claim to love the principles on which our country was founded, yet completely celebrate a fascist regime parade that flies in direct opposition to those principles?

I had no interest in going until Trump said that protesters would be met with big force, which kind of makes me want to go down there with a big sign about how I hate him. I'm a white woman who can bring her passport, so I don't think I would get arrested but if I did at least it would make a good clear-cut news story. What do you think? Better to stay home or show up and bring a sign that tells him what kind of birthday I wish for him?

It would be much worse for him if everyone just ignored his silly parade and went to a protest elsewhere.

Our local food bank is doing a food drive at a protest near us so I'll be volunteering and spending my time doing something useful to counteract his attempt to hurt food banks.

Parades should be about people. Not tanks.

There are plenty of air shows and other visits on military bases that allow civilians to see tanks, aircraft and other vehicles. You get to go into the vehicles even.

It’s a much better experience than this narcissistic birthday present.
