The Irish elite never went to Boston College its mission was to educate working class /poor kids who commuted from home. They did admirable job. Wealthy Irish families sent l their sons to Harvard, Dartmouth or more likely Holy Cross. The old wasps that ran Harvard and other Ivies never played BC in football rather they played and continue to play Holy Cross. It is remarkable that HC which never had a student body of over 1600 men over 4 years played Harvard, Yale, Dartmouth, and Brown since the 1890s.
