Or make her and her kid stay squarely on base. Not sorry. No one agreed to an official or tourist visit.

They made it clear that they are not invited.

Greenland's Prime Minister Mute Egede, in a statement to Greenland's Sermitsiaq newspaper, called the upcoming visit part of a "very aggressive American pressure against the Greenlandic community" and called for the international community to step in to rebuke it.

I wish they had the guts to do this.

They could use the excuse of saying the timing is off because they are in the middle of choosing a government.

They should, but of course MAGA will chalk up Usha's visa being denied to "racism" which is what they always say when anyone pushes back on our wannabe Casey DeSantis. Even though, funnily enough, JD was the one who pushed for the DOGE staffer who tweeted "Normalize Indian hate!" to be rehired.

Yup. And when rep Ro Khanna a pointed out that his kids were Indian and subject to the “Indian hate” Vance was defending, Vance told him to “Grow up.” Caring parents both JD and Usha. I pity their kids.

To be fair, Usha popped them out and her mother raised them while she and JD both pursued 80 hour a week careers. And her mother is probably living with them and still raising the kids. They are both of the Queen Elizabeth, inspect and make awkward conversation with the cleaned and fed kids for ten minutes before bed before dismissing them (if they got home rom wok on time) parenting model. They have zero clue about actual parenting.

If Usha still goes with her kid after the PM said she was unwelcome, she’s doing extremely reckless parenting. Isn’t it a principle of the Trump admin that you shouldn’t enter into countries where you’re unwanted.

Using the kids as a pawn. Poor kid.

I don't feel sorry for her, but Trump at every turn does things to his people to just jerk them around. This is intentional to test JD Vance's loyalty. Ti make sure Usha isn't too clean or above it all. Trump will never stop; and people around him must wonder when it is their turn to lose their souls (again!)

Her mother is a biology professor and provost at UC San Diego, who is probably horrified with what this administration is doing.

Doubt it. Everyone knew Trump was anti-education and anti-science and JD and Usha have embraced it all. Usha and her mother are the typical “pull the ladder up” immigrants who benefits from everything America has to offer and has no qualms about making it harder for those who come after her.

I thought his principle was the US never has to compromise or back down?

Really? I thought that I read somewhere that Usha’s mother was active in promoting DEI efforts. I could very well be wrong though, since I don’t remember where I read this.

Wow. If that's actually what her mom looks like, she's a lot better looking than Usha.

Well her visit should put the Greenlanders off joining for sure.

It’s as though she is “measuring for the draperies already” is the impression it may give some. Complete in your face move to Greenland, I get why they are mad.

Usha Vance, the second lady, is scheduled to join the White House national security adviser, the energy secretary and other U.S. officials to visit Greenland this week, amid President Trump’s continued push to take over the island, officials said on Sunday.

In a statement, the Trump administration said Ms. Vance will visit Greenland with one of her children on Thursday, to visit historical sites and attend a national dog sled race.

“Ms. Vance and the delegation are excited to witness this monumental race and celebrate Greenlandic culture and unity,” the statement said.

Separately, Michael Waltz, the national security adviser, is expected to tour a U.S. military base, two U.S. officials said. Chris Wright, the energy secretary, is expected to join him, according to another person with knowledge of the visit, as the Trump administration increases its focus on Arctic security and the Western Hemisphere.

distraction trip. So...what is happening or will be happening here while trip occurs?
