Inquiring minds want to know! Did it have to do with the whole sexual harassment nonsense?

Yeah. DOGE just created a power vacuum in my unit by reorganizing but not actually in any meaningful way. Now the managers who really need to go are still hanging around an interfering and our Acting is too weak to organize anything.

I thought after 15 years as a Fed this would make more sense to me but it doesn’t. How is it possible that people with the least ability to get things done are the managers?

It NEVER made sense to me. And I saw good people pushed out when slackers got to stay. It was and is insane. The whole place. It’s awful.

At the FDIC? Which group(s)? I believe the cuts were directed at sections, not at people. Sections were cut based on their alignment with presidential priorities - good people and slackers both were eliminated if their section was cut.

Maybe FDIC met 1250 goal without any RIFs as people who were getting RIFed were notified and were asked to take VERA/VSIP/DRP.

For those who are RIFed, do they get the severance pay as it supposed to be?

It seems some probationary employees are being called back. Why are only a few called back and not all? Will they be RIFed this month end?

If this happens, get ready for a banking crisis. FDIC is why we don't have mass bank runs anymore.

Does possible government shutdown next week impact FDIC operations and soon to-be executed RIF plans? It seems acting chairman is very much aligned with Project 2025 plan to implement more RIFs soon… so count down begins….

There is nothing indicating there will be more RIFs at the FDIC. The shutdown doesn’t affect us.

Do you actually have factual information or just paranoia?

There will be no shutdown at the FDIC. The agency doesn't operate on appropriated funds.
