2025 VA Governor's race

Sears will not get any suburban soccer mom votes like Youngkin got. Not with this dumpster fire going on.

If you were Sears, would you withdraw?

Why, it will be close but she will win.

+1

This nut isn’t going to appeal to many parents.

Not to mention all of the MAGA insanity that she supports.

I’m sure this picture is exactly why Sparnberger decided to emphasize her support for assault weapons ban. If Sears doubles down on this issue she will lose decent number of voters.

You are delusional.

This has Spanberger +15 written all over it.

I was so thankful when Youngkin issued an executive order in January 2022 banning mask mandates at schools. Sears has my vote.

+1 Youngkin won on Covid normalcy + McAuliffe coming back and acting like he had it in the bag. Neither of those is happening this time. Spanberger by 7.

I think the race will be close, and I am an independent swing voter. McAuliffe gave away the prior election when he told parents that their kids schooling was not something parents should care about.

Sparnberger is an out of touch limousine liberal she ooozes DC leftest she might win

The guy who is the best predictor of Virginia state election results (Chaz N) has Spanberger winning easily, absent some crazy twist such as pictures surfacing of her in blackface before the election.

Sears rode on Youngkin’s coattails in 2021, but she isn’t very appealing to the suburban moms and dads, and Trump will also drag her down.

Look for Jason Miyares to get defeated for AG assuming the Democrats nominate Jay Jones, and for the Democratic majority in the state legislature to widen as well. Pat Herrity might win the Lt. Governor’s seat.

McAuliffe stole the election from Jennifer McClellan, who likely would have beaten Youngkin if McAuliffe hadn’t realized he was past his due date, basically bought the Democratic nomination, and then proceeded to stick his foot in his mouth on education issues.

I don’t see Spanberger making similar mistakes, and she already had the Democratic nomination in the bag. She should win easily.

True true. Other poster right too that Spanberger is a limousine liberal. But, she will win by a huge landslide anyway. More than 7 points. Double digit landslide. It doesn't matter who runs against Sears. Any D will win by a landslide due to DOGE.

Spanberger doesn’t even fit that characterization. She is ex-CIA and has been elected in a fairly centrist district in VA. She was rated the fifth most bipartisan member of Congress at one point. More like a Mark Warner than an AOC type.

I’ve no doubt the MAGA crowd will attack her as a limousine liberal, but that will only play to hard-core Trumpers. Others will readily see through it.
