The taller one, one the left, is cute.

They are identical twins.

They do not look identical.

Our schools are failing us.

Girl, I’m talking about how they literally look not biology. Look at a picture of them and tell me they look exactly the same. They look less alike than my siblings who are fraternal twins.

They look very much alike to me. You’re blind.

DP. They don’t look exactly the same. One face is more symmetrical and hence more attractive than the other. They look similar enough that they probably started out completely identical in earlier stages but in utero developed a little differently.

All the questinos about taxes are amusing. They have 2 SSNs, so they each file their own taxes. The IRS is not counting the number of reproductive organs, just expects one filing per SSN.

I thought they got one salary for one teaching job. If they get separate W2s splitting the salary, is the school board breaking some salary floor for teachers?

They don’t look “less alike than siblings.” You can clearly tell they are siblings and they do look very much alike.

+1. He probably fell in love with Abby first and then the twin.

I don’t understand how he could fall in love with one first and not both. They never have alone time. It’s clearly a package deal.

They are twins attached to each other. Do you know any identical twins? They are individuals with distinct personalities.

Identical twins have identical DNA though, and are natural clones.

That being said, they aren't here for my comfort and I'm genuinely happy for them that they have a nice life and one or both has found love.

They are human beings like you are a human being. They didn’t choose to be co-joined twins. Why are you squeed out by people who didn’t choose their circumstances but graduated from college and teach 5th grades?

Stop pretending that they look normal. They don’t. Of course they didn’t choose their circumstances. Neither did the elephant man. But they still look odd.

Nobody is pretending they look normal. Lots of people don’t look “normal.” What is “normal,” btw? Civilized people don’t base their opinions of people on their looks.

I bet someone, somewhere, thinks you look odd.

DP- come on now you can’t be serious. There’s literally only one other set of conjoined twins with their same condition- connected in the same way- alive in the world right now. You mean to say that if they were walking down the street you wouldn’t look twice? Of course they look odd. It’s an odd situation.

I would not “look twice,” because I know who they are and what their situation is and have control over my head, eyes, and behavior. You do you.

She is also having sex during those times.

So Brittany had to be on board with this relationship.

Has no one else here ever dissociated? So odd.

One would have to die. It would be like Sophie’s choice. I think they did the right thing.

+1. Both could have died. The risk of losing one or both was too great.

One is married and one is tagging along. Abby is 4 inches taller so the other twin has to walk on her toes to keep up. What kind of life is that? They only have one set of reproductive organs. So if they get pregnant who is listed as the mother?

Well I, for one, thank God someone distantly observing this situation is focused on the paperwork implications—which have probably been fully discussed and resolved by those directly involved for some time now.

You’re a eugenicist, PP. Own it.

Absolutely remarkable that it took nine pages to get to this possibility.

Oh please. If you saw them walking down the street you would absolutely look twice. Unless you are a robot. Which is entirely possible I’m guessing.

Maybe they are part-time co-teachers and each person teachers 50% of the material?

No, I have not dissociated.
But I just read a whole forum in which young adults talked about wetting themselves because they "dissociate" while staring at their phones or playing video games, and were incredulous that most people don't experience this.

If you’ve ever had sex and fantasized about someone, other than who you’re with, that is a form of disassociation.
