Quick poll on Pride and Prejudice

The 2005 version will leave Netflix at the end of the month. I’d never seen it, due to friends who claimed that the 1995 version was superior. Dang. The chemistry was amazing. Team 2005 all the way! I’ll be folding laundry in front of it all month.

It's one of my favorite Jane Austen films! I also love the 1995 version of Persuasion.

If I had a time machine, it would be Colin Firth and Kiera Knightly transported to the same set at the age each filmed their respective versions.

Idk that I can pick. I like a lot better about the KK one (filming, many of the actors) but I prefer Colin Firth himself in the Darcy role and don't think he could be topped.

I’m 49, and I prefer the Keira version. It’s beautifully filmed. The music is lovely. The acting feels more authentic. And the chemistry is smoldering.

The Firth version is a cross between watching a play (stilted; feels obviously fake and stuffy) and Little House on the Prairie (modern actors struggling to pull off the costumes and dialogue). Plus, no chemistry. The best acting in this version is Lydia—she’s a natural.

I’m 48 and I much prefer Colin Firth. I can’t stand Kiera as Elizabeth.

The 1980 BBC miniseries with David Rintoul as Darcy is the best.
Then, the 1995 one with Colin Firth as Darcy is a close second
Then, the 2005 movie is a distant third.

Yes. The guy who plays Darcy in the KK one is fugly. And KK is too flat.
