They did not do this in the last series. You notice how much better all the women looked after the show aired? |

Better overview of the men. I think she’ll pick the investor from Naples. But why don’t they point out if the men are divorced or widowed or (gasp) never married? |
I think they probably did do this, particularly for the lead. As in, they did glow up Gerry and will probably work with Joan also. Not that she needs a glow up, but the coaching, etc. |
Looks like some interesting men. I hope we get to know more of the group than we did for the women. The cast is so large that we really learned nothing about some of the women other than what we could read in their bios; they got little screen time. I'm kind of ashamed to admit, but I'll be watching. |
Agree, Gerry got a major glow up and so will Joan. In the initial promo the lighting and makeup helped a lot. The contestants are on their own, at least until the finale. |
The premiere is September 18.

I only saw her a few times before I stopped watching "Golden Bachelor." I don't have Instagram. I did see some of her posts, and it looks like mostly selfies. Is that what makes it awful? She comes off as all about her looks, like she is trying out for trophy wife or trophy girlfriend. |
Some--not all--of Joan's haters really wanted Leslie instead. |
Or Faith. |
I saw some of her Instagrams. I wouldn't say they were awful but they were unremarkable and boring. A couple were of her cooking. Long video of a boring recipes like an Oreo trifle or something like that in a big bowl, using Cool Whip kind of thing. And one where she tries on clothes. I think she definitely wanted the attention and to add to her 15 minutes. So I think it seemed a little desperate. |
I liked Faith a lot better. Leslie and Joan to me are artsy glitsy and fancy versions of the same. Faith is more interesting and authentic. But she would need local candidates due to her farm. It'd be so much better generally if these shows had local candidates. It's why Love is Blind has worked better (not always, but sometimes). |
It’s nice to see the guys seem sweet for the most part, and into her. I’m having trouble telling them apart right now, but so far I like Dan, Mark, and the tall extroverted guy (not Guy haha, though he seems fine).
And she’s a pleasant surprise, more energetic and charismatic than I expected. |
It's beside the point now, because Faith didn't get the nod. But in the last episode of Golden Bachelor, or maybe in a follow-on ("Women Tell All" or something), Faith said that she would consider moving for the right person. In other words, Gerry wasn't the right person. So the excuse she used was that she need to live near her dead-and-buried horse. That seemed a little weird to me at the time, but in light of her subsequent clarification and learning what we know now about Gerry it makes more sense to me. I liked Faith a lot, too, but Joan is fine and a better choice than Leslie IMO. |
I was not excited about Joan but I must say I teared up when she was talking about her husband.
I could see Joan with Mark, we’ll see if they have any real chemistry. I think Kim should be set up with Faith and Chock with Leslie. |
And Jack with Susan haha. Jonathan is cute but can’t imagine Joan dealing with remote IA. I also side eye whenever a guy claims he was blindsided by divorce. |
