With W&L yes, not the others.

So Richmond is better than UVA and W&M? Test score ranges and % submitting say otherwise. Richmond is almost at Pepperdine level test optional levels and doesn't have the west coast excuse. Nice try.

The “stats” at ur aren’t real. All test optional. Inflated GPAs. No one who can get into UVA or W&M goes there.

This applies to UVA and W&M as well.

Not really. UVA and W&M have 60% submitting scores which is actually remarkably high for TO schools. Richmond's % is in the gutter with Pepperdine.

What is sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander. Yes, UVA and W&M have a higher percentage submitting, but they are definitely test optional. Regarding inflated GPAs, High School grade inflation has gone on for a long, long time and the GPAs of first year students are much higher because of it. Likewise, most high schools don't provide class rank, so that reported metric may not be representative of the overall student body as well.

Have you ever toured the campus? It’s striking. It feels like the Truman Show. Something is off.

+1

Because it attracts well-groomed kids who dress well?

DP. I know what the PP means. It’s not how the kids look or dress, it’s just the overall vibe of the place. It feels like if a gum wrapper fell out of your pocket, someone would jump out of the bushes with a dustpan and take care of it within seconds. I get the same feeling at Wake Forest. This is a huge plus to many, but for some , the hyper attention to order and neatness is slightly unsettling.

It’s a weird school. No name recognition. Mediocre academics. Extremely expensive. I think it’s a hard pass.

Not worth the money in my opinion - unless you got money to burn.

Always thought Richmond was a public commuter school, like Memphis State or College of Charleston. It’s a private liberal arts college? Interesting. Strong feelings about it, clearly.

Not a commuter school. A school for rich kids for New Jersey. Avoid.

To the original poster - if you aren’t getting a big scholarship most people would look elsewhere. It’s okay. Nothing special.

Sorry your kid didn't get in.

Is this a joke?

No. Why would it be?

The dorm room we saw was dark and depressing. The school doesn’t seem to have much spirit (sports events don’t seem to draw much attention). And our tour was so business focused.

I agree. We toured a lot of schools. All of us like UR by far the least. Boring campus. Nothing going on. Buildings nothing special. Kids seemed preppy and entitled. Mediocre academic reputation. I would never send my kids here.

My daughter had the same reaction! What a waste of a trip. At least we got to see W&M, which was since. Richmond is a “niche” school for New Jersey lax bros and sorority girls.

🤮🤮

My thoughts exactly.

DCUM doesn’t like schools that are less than 20 percent Asian.

All of this talk about country clubs, lax bros, and sorority girls is code for “too white.”

Except this isn't true because DCUM loves LACs and schools like Wake Forest

No, there is a group of diehard haters for Wake as well.

I don’t place much weight on US News but DCUM seems to. U of R is rated the same as Colgate and right behind Middlebury.

There is a very large cohort of DCUM users who don't like US News and favor LACs and WFU like schools.
