Political Discussion
| Biden has always been known to be corrupt. Lots of things used to be swept under the rug. After two really fun impeachments of Trump this is going to be the new norm. |
Your second sentence belies the first. The reality is that Kevin McCarthy holds onto the speakership only by the consent of the nuttiest Republicans in the House. And they have decided impeachment is no longer inappropriate for meaningless political theater. It's Benghazi all over again. |
| Do real people (not the trolls) actually think this is a good idea? Or are there Republican voters who wished McCarthy would stop trying to defer to the crazies in their party? |
Biden has literally posted every single tax return of his adult life. Every penny of his wealth can be tracked. There is absolutely zero evidence of any crimes or illegality on his part. None. |
| Greg Sargent is only now realizing that Republicans don't care about facts? |
|
If facts mattered, they’d have to acknowledge that Trump likely committed many felonies. Can’t have that!
The part that gets me is they don’t seem to understand that we don’t worship Biden, like they worship Trump. If he committed a crime I’d cheer on impeachment. So far, they can’t even identify if, when, how much or who benefited from the bribery, or even if it was bribery. |
“Many people are saying….” |
Are you suggesting that you think Biden is stupid and would have ill gotten gains reflected on his tax returns? Come on... Whether or not this is what happened with Biden, the way you would do this stuff is through family and close friends. |
You mean like Jared being given $2 billion to manage by the Saudis based on his zero experience? Oh, wrong family |
So you are suggesting, without evidence, that Biden has committed and been committing tax fraud for decades? Why would a sitting vice president/sitting senator risk that? Or are you saying he is so brilliant to have gotten away with it for so long? Because belies the whole "sleepy joe" thing. Which is it? |
you are correct. But narratives from the right defy logic. |
This. This is corruption 101--never take the money directly. Not saying Biden did anything, but if he were inclined to, given his age, enriching his heirs would be top of mind. His reported $8 million or so in net worth plus more than $300,000 annually in pension and SS is more than enough to carry Joe and Jill quite comfortably through their lifetimes. His net worth may be quite a bit higher--federal employees don't need to disclose their TSPs--not sure about presidents--and his could be considerable (over $5 million not impossible) given his many years of service. |
Need a screen for that projection? |
| The moderate dems in the senate will join Mitch and convict Biden. |
