Hmm and you can’t fathom things have changed?

Either drag has always been harmless, sexless or it hasn’t.

As long as the drag queens don't use their drag names, it should be okay. I know Lotte Cox, Petra DeLong, Rhoda Hard, Drew Peacock (he specializes for "the Viagra set"), Licksie Moore, Trixie Dailey, Roma Hands, among others.

These names are disturbing.

Of course they’re not. They’re perfectly acceptable. To say otherwise makes you a bigot. You are incredibly close minded! You’re MAGA trash!!

J/k. The names are effing ridiculous. But of course, there’s nothing sexual about drag queens. Keep telling yourself that.

The drag performers at story time are not using names like lotte cox.

This is such a reach. I’m embarrassed for you.

I mean Disney princesses are obviously sexualized too. Drag queens have sexual humor, but that’s not part of story hour.

So they are using fake names? That’s even worse. Parents are being mislead.

If you say so. Do you ever ask yourself why these men want to be around young children. If they were not dressed up in these outfits would you still take your kids to see a random man read stories. For some reason the customers and make up somehow make it acceptable.

Ding ding ding

What percent of child abuse is committed by men who first try to blur kids’ boundaries around sex?

Not every drag queen is a danger, but many people who really are a danger would be interested in being in that kind of situation

Some decisions are pretty easy

I think it’s more adaptive safety-wise for kids to be repelled and confused by sexually demonstrative adult males

When they’re old enough to protect themselves without the parents around they can open their minds a bit

Hope you’re not a progressive. You’ll be shunned for this comment for sure.

Most often, yes

And if you've made a point of having your kid around a bunch of men in push-up bras acting crazy, do you think that's helped or hurt their ability to recognize where boundaries should be?

Like taking your kids to Disney or Universal Studios with a bunch of men dressed in tights. You think that is dangerous.

You think we should forbid men from being coaches/pastors/etc?

That's a silly analogy

Dressing up as a cartoon character is different from playacting an oversexualized woman (ever seen a queen dressed frumpy & androgynous?)

No I don't think we should forbid men from doing those things

But since men commit oh I don't know 98% of sex offenses I think we also have a responsibility to urge kids to err on the side of NOT being open minded about unconventional sex related behavior from men

You’ve clearly never been if you think they are acting sexually.

Minnie and Mickey are constantly hugging kids.

I've seen plenty of videos lately! (and been to real drag shows)

Of course I'm sure very few of these family oriented shows have inappropriate material, just some of them

Plenty of predators at Disney too, like bank robbers who go where the money is, but as long as the parents are there, probably no real-time risk, same with the shows

All that said, I see potential risk to kids' radar, and no potential upside - though I am not in favor of banning anything and think people should be able to go watch them if they want
