What is Bowser's political future

If the GSA required federal employees to be in the office 4 days a week, it would be a big boost to getting back to something we would all call normal.

I don’t think they’ll require that much, but even twice a week, along with private sector, it could be good. I don’t think telework is completely leaving.

Did Pelosi just give herself and Bowser credit for underestimating Jan 6 and turning down National Guard? I'd like to tie that one with a bow. It was a devastating event, and I've always maintained Bowser had a role.

Both of them had a role in it.

Not until the election is over.

Are you seriously still perpetuating this lie? Bowser and Pelosi can't call up the national guard. Trump didn't want to. They had to go through the Secretary of the Army.

Bowser still sucks.

That’s actually a much better rebound compared with other cities’ transit systems. The downtown Sweetgreens, Chopts, and Tattes are most always packed at lunch these days. People are eating healthier too, and more people are ordering their salads with no dressing, no salt, no dried fruits.

Not the ones near my office (Franklin Square area). All empty or closed. I'm in the office Tuesday-Thursday and so many people started bringing their lunch from home that we had to get a second fridge. No one wants to spend $20 (plus tip!) on a mediocre sandwich or overpriced salad anymore.

My experience is with the ones in the west end of downtown, west of 19th St. Always packed.

+1

Absolutely packed! I work near Foggy Bottom and was looking forward to shorter lines after GW kids left for the semester. It is still totally packed at lunch everyday. No matter where I go to eat.

With Trump, will she run again?

I would bet money that she will leave the mayoralty for a very well-remunerated position with the NFL very soon after she delivers a stadium deal.

She could run in win a third term... Despite what people think compared to the rest of the council she's probably the most sane out of the bunch

She will win if she runs again. She's more popular than anonymous keyboard warriors think. Almost all of her most ardent critics are the city's most mediocre white residents, the kind of low-information people who support Charles Allen and Brianne Nadeau.

She is waiting for Eleanor Holmes Norton to resign so she can run for Congress. She will run again for mayor unless the Congressional seat opens before that.

Thanks for proving my point.

What? In 2022, she barely beat Robert White, who ran a terrible campaign and whose prospects were severely diminished by the mysterious decision of Trayon White to join the race. In 2026, DC will have RCV and so she won’t be able to get by through relying on vote splitting. And I can’t think of anything she has done in the past two years that would have made her more popular, but can think of many things she has done (or not done) that have further demonstrated her to be terrible at her job. Her forthcoming efforts to saddle taxpayers with the expense of building a playground for billionaires is not going to endear her to the DC voting public much either. Christina Henderson or Randy Clarke would easily defeat her.
