Yeah it's the cops fault

Has nothing to do with the parents or other bad influences in the community.

We can all breathe a sigh of relief, they are giving grants to more violence interrupters.

WHy is that when white young boys and men commit mass shootings no one brings up their parents?

It's off that the subject of two parent households are brought up when black boys commit crime.

they ALWAYS bring up the parents of school shooters. Always.

don’t make this about race.

Yep. There was LOTS of info about the dysfunctional family upbringings of Dylan Roof, Adam Lanza and Nicholas Cruz.

All this agonizing about prosecuting criminals is what will help republicans win the midterms. It’s pretty transparent that progressive criminal justice reform is essentially just leniency for criminals. Progressives are democrats.

That is jus t it true. I can’t keep all of their names straight but the kid who’s parents were texting him to not get caught and bought him the gun are on trial. And they were certainly criticized as terrible parents. As was the parents of the dude who killed people at the parade in Illinois.

In the woman's words, "The parents should be held accountable."

There is something seriously wrong with our society where women and seniors are not protected and respected.

Agreed. And I’ll add kids to that.

I definitely hold our local politicians responsible for much of this.

I have no idea "how" she asked, but nothing justifies what these kids did to her. And I get why people are scared to intervene. What can be done to help prevent some of the out-of-control behavior of youth?

What can be done? Avoid areas and places, like “bad neighborhoods” and public transit where violent people are more likely to be.

Your privilege is really showing. You realize that so many people in DC have no choice but to live where they live and take public transportation, right. So we should make it safer for them instead of throwing our hands up and letting these hoodlums run the show.

Exactly. Let’s empower the DC and Metro police to restore law and order. With gloves off, if necessary.

How can 5-8 black teenagers on a bus represent all 45,000 black youth in DC?

I'll wait.

While you wait, check out crime statistics by race, particularly homicide rates. You'll learn a lot.

I'll wait.

They don’t. Not even close.

But assume the worst on public transit.

Mouth shut. Head on a swivel.

Or don’t at your own peril.

What a great way to live your life /s

Intelligently and with the greatest chance of preserving your own safety. Yes, it is a great way to live.
