Very disturbing incident on metro bus

When incidents like this continue to happen with no consequences, people start to take matters into their own hands. It’s only a matter of time before they curse at the wrong person or fall into the wrong person. Plenty of people call switch blades, guns, mace, etc. One of these incidents will lead to a response that severely injures or kills one of these kids. And no one will be able to blame the person who was tired of this behavior being allowed by the leaders and citizens of this city.

Well actually people will blame them. Is there an alarm switch on metro? Or film the kids like the Landon kids were filmed, and post and shame I guess.

Was the victim ever interviewed?

I’d love to hear what the victim thinks.

How does she feel about being attacked by teens on the bus?

What does she think the real issue is?

How does she suggest the issue is addressed?

My guess is she won’t blame poverty or systemic racism.

My guess is she will say something about lack of values, fatherless kids who weren’t “raised right,” etc.

Maybe we should give her a platform and listen?

After all, every nonprofit and foundation is pushing initiatives that put people with lived experience as the changemakers.

It was a group of people. They arrested the two young adults. Hope they find the rest soon. As to above, in DC it is absolutely terrifying to testify as a crime victim. She will need the full protection of the state to be offered, and it should. Brave woman in every way!

The video is heart breaking. The woman is a hero. When you watch the video the woman was literally picked up and tossed off the bus.

In the woman's words, "The parents should be held accountable."

There is something seriously wrong with our society where women and seniors are not protected and respected.

More and more I am starting to think that the only way anything will change is if parents are held accountable for their kids’ actions, attendance at school, etc. Is it totally fair to hold a parent accountable for a 16 year old? Probably not but it’s also not fair to be assaulted on a bus.

NP but there are lots of discussions about the parents when mass shootings happen. Usually people blame the parents, say they should be charged, knew the kid was disturbed, gave access to guns, etc. I agree with you on the two parent versus one parent comment, but I don’t think people blame parents less when a white kid commits a crime.
