Is Putin really crazy, like #45 crazy, or is it mental deterioration?

If you think there’s some moderate person waiting in the wings, you’re wrong. And autocrats don’t make succession plans.

Puhleez guys. There’s plenty of reasons to scorn and revile Putin, but must we descend to making fun of his height. Grow up.

Signed—DCUM poster whose DH is short and amazing in every way.

It isn't about you, try not personalizing everything.

Zelensky is the same size as Putin but no one is making fun of him because he’s awesome. Don’t be horrible and people won’t make fun of you. I’m sure your husband is lovely and no one does that.

I'm married to a bald, short, athletic, funny, super intelligent, kind, trouble-shooting, grill master guy. Enough with making fun of guys who are short and/or bald. They're traits, neither good nor bad.

Killing your adversaries who speak truth to you? Bad.

Killing civilians who are trying to escape the war? Bad.

Invading a sovereign nation? Bad. Yeah, I'm thinking of Iraq a little here, too.

Putin's bald as well as tiny?

Interesting fact. Stalin was also a tiny short man. Putin is even smaller.

What's crazy about wanting more land and resources and doing it when you know no entity will do much to stop you?

This is like dealing with a child who has no rules or boundaries and no enforcement of them.

No consequences for Putin. Nothing but gain. Quite logical actually.

Sure it's unethical and immoral, but not "crazy."

He'll get what he wants annexed to Russia and mass media will tout Biden as a hero. Putin and CHina will be LTAO.

Maybe China will make a play for Madagascar again, 100 year lease.

Russia is the largest country on the face of this planet! Focus on your people and move yourselves into the 21st century. His backwards facing ambitions are destroying everything around him.

You all are nuts. He wants to stop NATO and the Western influence close to Russia. How hard is that to get?

I honestly don't see how this would end well for Russia. It's almost like this war is conveniently going to destroy Russia, which is maybe the goal, with Ukraine and unfortunate collateral damage. None of what he is doing is making any sense to me, this is a sure way to completely obliterate Russia as a country of any significance and Putin is facilitating this destruction, it's insane. And here is a scary part.. Russia is no Venezuela.. they have nuclear weapons enough to destroy the world, what is to say they won't use them if they are f-ed to the point of literal no return and become another Venezuela. It's the stuff that scares me the most.. Talk me off the cliff, please

He made several miscalculations which have led to this debacle. Otherwise his decision, as the PP noted, is incredibly rational. I have been saying this for the past two week, rational, ruthless and money driven. Nothing to do with NATO.

At the cost of obliterating his entire economy completely and turning his country into Venezuela of the east?

Foreign rulers who defy western imperialism and aggression are by and large made out by the west to be insane, mentally disturbed or crazy. The list is long.

No, I am neither a Putin sympathizer nor a Russian troll. Just an observer of history.

Yes. Plus, Ukraine is very fertile. When have you met a dictator that is reasonable?

What western aggression did Vlad defy as he made his land grab in Ukraine?
