Is Putin really crazy, like #45 crazy, or is it mental deterioration?

It’s either become a subservient of China while they rob you of your natural resources or watch while your country breaks apart in chaos. Once the bank defaults hit, Russia is done. No foreign entity is ever going to invest again.

Well, not for a couple years, or so. Foreign entities will be back as soon as they think they can get away with it. But in the meantime, the Russian people are going to be suffering.

Go back over 100 years. General era of [Ras]Putin had the Russian bond default in 1918. Now [__]Putin has turned his country into the new Venezuela.

USA, EU etc should have done this economic havoc to Putin in 2014 when Russia was taking the Crimea and instigating in Donbass. We all gave this new Hitler 8 years which was just ridiculous.

Putin's rally reminds me of Ceausescu's last rally in 89. He was dead within a week.

Not that there is a succession plan, but people who could potentially take over are similar or worse.

In a recent address, Putin sulks about being abandoned by his friends, and compares the West's sanctions to Nazi pogroms against Jews And considering it was RUSSIA that carried out pogroms, including in Kyiv and surrounding areas, this comparison is extra crazy.

Does anyone else feel like his tenure is almost over, and he knows it and he's panicking? That's what I got from watching this.

Sometime YouTube comments can have nuggets of wisdom. It was refreshing to see a lack of trolls in the comment section to that video.

This one particular comment really resonated with me and hit the nail on the head:

During his tenure Vladimir Putin had plenty of options. He just chose the ones where he gets to roleplay a great leader. Too bad the world moved away from military thinking to economic thinking many decades ago. The shift actually started happening during the Cold War. Now its all about economic interests and the truth is no one wants to mess with a nuclear Russia. So while that is true Russia could've sold all the resources it ever wanted, developed its infrastructure, improved its wealth & lives of its citizen, but none of this really happened.

No, what happened was Vladimir Putin just doing 'Kadyrov' things over his 20 years rule of Russia. Wrestling with polar bears, hunting and riding horses, collecting the most expensive watches, et cetera. The standard cult of personality BS. That leads us to the situation today.

What we see is Vladimir Putin's complete failure of understanding the geopolitics of the 21st century. It is all about economy. That's the problem with this guy. You can't teach an old dog new tricks. China for example understands exactly what it needs to do how to play the geopolitical game. This is ironic too, because everyone perceived this man as a political mastermind, but if we put his legacy into economical terms we will see what an utter screw up he has been.

Thanks to the PP for posting that comment from Youtube. I don't often read those but I found that comment you posted very interesting.

I also find the YouTube comment interesting. I have heard it stated in several places that China prefers to destroy or persuade countries through economic means. I’m not sure if that is true or not l—and I am suspicious of ingesting propaganda—but it’s true that we can see for ourselves they have not gone to war lately.

The link above to the Putin video didn’t work for me, so I searched YouTube. Putin was “cut off” and a band was playing mid-concert in the stage…so some people thought that meant Putin did not speak live. That seems possible because he must be scared someone will kill him.

Putin was apparently wearing a $10,000 coat?!?!

That outfit was so odd. It must play well in Russia. I though it was gay male of a certain age or rich middle school mom at pick up.

He can afford it.

OMG

I was the previous poster who mentioned the $10,000 coat. Okay, maybe it's really $19,000.

What if Russians were brought for the free concert and then footage was used to make it seem they were loving what Putin said?? More and more, I don't think Putin was there. I think the video was cut to make it look like people were supporting him...

It would not surprise me if Russia had told people they would reward them with a concert and then use that footage to show that everyone loves Putin. From a Russian, I read that this is a war of old women (they support the war) and not the young people who will be sent to die. But even an old woman was shocked at how many came back dead...

Its not a $10K coat, it is just a stupid coat some dumba$$ was willing to pay $10K for.

So how humiliated do ya'll think Putin feels, now that his tough-guy Chechen fighters gave up and went home? The Ukrainians slaughtered them and Chechens are supposed to be unstoppable.

I wonder if Putin hids his face in a bag when he walks around the Kremlin.

He can afford a 10k coat. Putin is apparently the world's only trillionaire.

Apparently Putin replaced his entire personal staff because he's scared of being poisoned. It must be very precarious times inside his mansion.
