Will your DC wear mask to school when Youngkin lifts school mask mandate next week?

ALL? In a regular public school? Yeah right, sure you do. There are so many public education drama queens on here.
I'm a middle school teacher. I knew back in Spring 2020 that letting my colleagues out of the classroom was the worst thing we could do. So many of them didn't want to be there anyway and were simply collectiong a paycheck. It is the dirty little secret of public education and the unions that enable this mediocrity and gorging at the public trough. Due to the pandemic, the cat is out of the bag. Is it any wnder that this has become an extremely divisive issue?

Principal here. Nurse is right. You are not.

Hopefully opting out won't be an option, but if it is, all kids who opt out of wearing a mask should be required to take a rapid test every morning, just as athletes are required to do.

I am a parent and I have waited outside the clinic for the school nurse to give her medication for my child and observed her administering insulin, helping a kid with their inhaler. You can’t visibly distinguish the kids with cancer, heart problems, autoimmune disease, or neurological disorders but they exist in a normal school population. And adults working in schools have the same medical issues. This will exacerbate the teacher and sub shortage.

Only way of opting out is with medical exemption. All others who refuse to go wear a mask should be sent home.

Not in MS/HS - the master schedule is complex enough as it is.

A bunch of us at my MS have been texting all day about this. We're in a NoVa district. We are going to talk to our principal about it. None of us want unmasked kids in our room. I know I'll walk out before I teach all day with unmasked kids in my different classes. I don't want to put the school in a bind but I will not subject myself to being in classes all day with kids who may are not masked. I have a family that is my priority, not this job.

+1 No mask, no inschool learning.

Parents of students with disabilities and teachers with disabilities, seriously consider contacting this attorney in Tennessee:
https://www.donatilaw.com/our-team/brice-timmons/

Ask him for a referral to a Virginia firm that specializes in education and disabilities law so they can file an injunction. The governor wants to show he can “own the libs” but teachers and parents should not roll over.

He definitely needs to be faced with a legal challenge for telling parents to ignore the rules of their district.

Remember when Youngkin said he’d leave mask mandates to the localities when he was campaigning? He lied! The executive order bans any school or district from imposing a mask requirement on students. Shame on all of you who got spooked by CRT, fell for the wolf in fleece vests, and voted for this madness.

Everyone is going to get Omicron masks or no masks

I take it you think we should all get it at the same time and shut down the world again for a couple of weeks? I thought people like you used to say there never should have been a shut down in 2020.

Running on a platform of local control is best and I am not Trump but then exercises executive fiat on Day One. What a hypocrite. Please file the lawsuits. I don’t have kids who would have standing but will donate money.

A Republican lying?

Shocker.

Other types of vaccines are required to attend school. Why should the Covid vaccine be any different?

This has been debated so many places. Short answer: it’s not approved and under EAU, unlike the other vaccines.

You were never asked to get a flu vaccine so you can attend a musical? or was I living under a rock?
