I know whenever I am looking for safe and innovative health protocols, I always look to the NFL. |
they care because they are afraid of seeing the true measure of cases in schools. it doesn't fit with their narrative of "kids don't get covid and covid doesn't spread in schools." they would prefer to hide the cases. |
Counting cases is not working unless you want to shut down the economy and schools. We need to go to treating severe disease.
I can't imagine how much asymptomatic RSV and flu circulates every year through schools. We never shut them down for that before. All you're doing is shutting your own child out of school. Thinking you can do anything to stop the spread of a highly transmissible respiratory virus is laughable, especially when the vast majority of the country are not complying. You're just using your own children as soldiers in an unwinnable war. |
The closed schoolers are once again pushing closed schools and fearmongering on it. You see it with ArlStar and Smart Restart Twitter pages. There's open enrollment for the virtual program right now. Ventilation Woman, Lunch Petitioner, Military Wife and the handful of other people in Smart Restart should put their kids in the virtual program if they think in person school is that dangerous. Obviously they don't since they're not putting their kids in the virtual prgram. This is the same thing that happened last year - complete FOMO. They know in-person is a much superior form of education and they don't want other kids getting ahead of theirs. They'd prefer their kids be virtual, but can't tolerate the idea of other Arlington kids getting ahead of theirs. So they just fearmonger on AEM, Twitter and DCUM. Now they're pushing for mass testing to find a bunch of asymptomatic cases to shut down school |
I have not seen anyone pushing mass testing. This is such a weird hang up. Maybe I should start. You will be guaranteed to feed the algorithm for the convenient free optional testing program. |
DP and I’ve long suspected that’s why my district refused to provide onsite testing for the students and staff who went back before anyone was vaccinated. |
What about the position that positive COVID cases, even if asymptomatic, should be allowed to remain in the classroom? Why should that be allowed? |
Do we test asymptomatically for the flu and RSV? RSV is way more dangerous to kids (especially infant siblings) than COVID, and flu is more dangerous than COVID to kids. We can't lock out kids for weeks at a time every year for COVID. Schools won't function. We're not asymptomatically testing people at restaurants and bars. If we're not doing it to adults, then we absolutely should not be doing it to kids. |
This is an excellent point, considering Omicron is a cold. Can you imagine how many kids would miss school if we surveillance tested for rhinovirus every year? Kids would never get educated. And COVID is not going anywhere, just like the cold virus is not going anywhere. |
This is so much fun. Can’t tell if the poster is deliberately obtuse or just doesn’t know what they are talking about. Either way it’s is a win. Why? Because there is totally optional, convenient and free Covid testing program. Thanks PP! |
Amen! Thank you for posting this!!! |
Speaking of mass testing, DCPS is distributing tests to all kids so everyone can test before returning to school.
https://www.nbcwashington.com/news/coronavirus/dc-reinstates-mask-mandate-dcps-schools-close-test-pickup/2914976/ This is such a good idea. And now let's watch the APEs go well, all APEsh*t over it. |
But since you all endlessly bleat OMG SCHOOLS AREN’T A SIGNIFICANT SOURCE OF SPREAD, then all the asymptomatic testing in the world won’t catch anything, because schools aren’t driving COVID spread, remember? |
Just ignore that poster. It’s our resident stalker who can’t string together a coherent thought. Totally bat-shit crazy. |
I’m guessing CDC comes out with some revamped guidelines in light of Omicron. Current rules don’t make sense when cases transmitting regardless of vaccine status and most everyone is getting it. I expect we move to something more like this: https://time.com/6131104/rethinking-covid-19-restrictions-2022/?fbclid=IwAR1Xwqe7m4yI7n00ofI1-NuQifh9n3v3y_37H5sKgL2wdlF0yzhz7B-ZdpA |
