There's 0 scientific reason that children are treated differently than adults (who even unvaccinated are at lower risk than a vaccinated 40 year olds). It makes no sense, except to appease the most extreme people in the community.

You should see the Psaki clip. The 2022 Republican Congressional and 2024 Desantis campaigns just got a great new campaign ad. "In Winter 2021-22, while bars, stadiums and restaurants are crowded every weekend, Democrats forced little kids at school to eat in outside in 30 degree weather because of 'health'".

The best part is that the people on here defending it have no idea how politically toxic their "COVID at all costs" ideology/theology is.

Kind of, yeah. The vast majority of kids took the hits in the last year and a half to protect the most vulnerable. There was no other option. But it’s just like allergies - you can only go so far, and if you have the kid who will die if they even touch something that had a peanut on it, or a microdot of peanut dust in the air, it’s up to the parents to,protect those children - make those kids wear the masks and gloves to prevent contact with the allergen, or put them in a sterile environment. I think there’s a lot of hysterical parents who think any little bit of asthma in a kid makes them “extremely high risk” and they are trying to ride the coattails of the much smaller population of kids with profound illnesses to not normalize regular behaviors when we now have much better mitigating factors. If I had a kid receiving chemo, no way would I be sending them to school. It sucks, but the actual risk profile is such that I just couldn’t do it. My kid with asthma? Got the vaccine, made sure he knew where his inhaler is, and off to school he goes. He eats whichever place he prefers.

I don't even understand how you guys can send your kids to a place you hold so much contempt for. I would hope that if I hated the staff, admin, every policy, and the education in a school district that I would NOT send my kid to that place. Because honestly it's weird. I;m going to guess the “My kids are being treated as non-human person” attachment parented and breast fed their baby because “humans have been doing it for thousands of years. Guess what- they didn’t have heat then either and were outside ALL the TIME, not just 20 minute lunch.
