Do you want school to stay open or not?

Any empirical evidence that lunch leads to spread? No - plenty of schools don't have outdoor lunch and are doing fine.

This outdoor lunch push is just to placate the few nutters who are not eating inside restaurants (who don't seem to think vaccines work and/or think COVID will be eradicated).

We're purposefully going to be inviting APS families to do group family dinners at restaurants in January and February.

Yes! I will go!

You are so purposefully cool. It’ll be like the chicken pox parties!!!

DP. Not if they are vaxxed, dunce.

Yes, there are no breakthrough cases. You are big brains.

Do you not realize that the vast majority of people in the US and APS families are eating inside restaurants every weekend? Having indoor playdates? Returning to normal?

It's like the poster here is part of a religious cult, and doesn't realize that other people don't do their crazy rituals (no indoor restaurants, only wearing "better masks", nightly prayers to the new COVIDian god Omicron).

Yes, people are eating out, socializing in large groups, etc and that’s why our #s are skyrocketing. Where exactly do you think people were catching it, big brains?

everyone will get it eventually. vaccines aren't designed to prevent infections. that's been news for like six months or so. vaccines prevent severe cases in most cases. you're stuck in march 2020.

So why the rush to get it ASAP?

i'm not that poster.

No rush to get it. Most people are just treating it like the flu or any other coronavirus now, considering the less than flu level risk for vaccinated adults and unvaccinated children.

If it was up to some people, we'd be taking tests every day and locking down for new variants for the rest of our lives. Not going to happen.

It's funny that some people think that by not eating at a restaurant, they can avoid a highly transmissible respiratory virus that hangs in the air for hours. Or better yet, that giving up 2+ years of your life, especially your children's childhood, is worth it to avoid less than a flu level risk.

That is called "coronaphobia" and there are multiple medical articles on it. It seems to be prominent among wealthy people with far-left views, like a number of Arlingtonians.

That's worked so well for 2 years. LOL The fact that people think they can avoid a highly transmissible virus is hilarious. The only way to do so is to stay in your home for the rest of your life (considering COVID will be here the rest of your life).

All these coronaphobes are triple vaccinated too, but don't think vaccines work. And they're pushing their coronaphobia onto our kids with this outdoor lunch in the 20 degree weather.

As the 2022 election heats up, just wait as this "forced outdoor lunch of children while adults eat inside down the street" issue is going to get more and more national attention and outrage.

I’m sure we will all get it at some point. Why rush out and have everyone all get it at once? The surge will go by quickly. We can last a month or so with no large gatherings. No eating at indoor restaurants.

Until the next variant, and the next variant, and the next variant...

Nope, we're done. January's a great time to have restaurant meet ups with families because of the weather. We love to have them at Uncle Julio's!

Taking a short break on large gatherings a few more times over the next few years isn’t the end of the world.

Hopefully, it becomes endemic soon and no longer sends so many people to the hospital. Until then, we do what we can as responsible members of society. Well, at least those of us who care about others.

Here comes the morality play. Nope, we're done as are the vast majority of Americans. Everyone will get COVID - you coronaphobes are just really insufferable people.

The same type of sick people blamed gay people for spreading AIDS in the 1980s and Jews for spreading the Black Plague. It's really, really disgusting.

Another irrational tantrum. Sorry you aren’t equipped to handle challenges. And don’t care about the impacts of everyone getting all at once.

Grow TF up.

Get ready for packed college bowl games, and then NFL playoff games. Tons of families traveling for this coming week of New Year's too.

The only thing irrational is forcing kids to eat outside in the cold to satisfy a few COVIDians' warped view of morality (while people pack into restaurants, planes, movie theaters and football stadiums).

Omicron is a cold. It's great that everyone is testing positive at the same time so we drop the worthless quarantining of asymptomatic people. South Africa has done it and we'll be very soon.

It was 60+ today. The kids are fine. They come in if the weather is bad.

So you think it is funny that my under 5 year old has health conditions which make him at risk for serious COVID complications. My older kids eating lunch outside is such a small price to pay for anyone's health. Not to mention the kids get more recess time with outdoor lunch. (They can play when they're done eating as opposed to waiting for everyone to finish before the class goes outside).

Only in super red states would I be considered liberal, but keep it up with your assumptions and narrowmindedness.

COVID will be here forever. You act like it will be eradicated. It will not. In fact, everyone will get it.

And we have procedures in place for immunocompromised people for bad flu seasons too. Did you demand such procedures for bad flu seasons too?

The only narrowmindedness is acting like COVID will be eradicated.
