I don’t think it’s necessarily going to be great under Youngkin but NoVa was on the path to decline like Montgomery County with its facile, lazy embrace of woke philosophy (all sorts of segregation are tolerated, as long as you cram some “anti-racist” pedagogy down the throats of teachers and kids), and maybe a time-out will mean some less blatantly hypocritical people will step back and start to pay more attention to the basics again.

VA is currently ranked 4th in the nation in public education and its a big part of why so many corporations have moved here and brought jobs.

I'm not particularly excited to watch our education rank sink to the basement as we let the dumbest parent in every school district ban whatever book from the curriculum they don't like/understand. Thats what people don't' get about this parents first nonsense. The biggest idiot at the school board meeting who gets all his news from the crazy parts of the internet will now get to decide what your child learns or is deprived of learning.

And businesses will bail or reconsider moving here as a result.

At least for FCPS that education ranking is probably more due to parents paying for outside tutoring than anything else, because they feel that the schools aren't teaching at the appropriate level. Thats why my kids are in school for half of saturday doing math and learning our language.

Just as "Defund the Police" didn't actually mean Defund the Police (or so the left claims), "CRT" doesn't actually mean Critical Race Theory when it's used in these discussions.
