Anyone else excited for Governor Glenn Youngkin

Anonymous
I think he ran a brilliant campaign and I look forward to seeing the innovation he brings to Virginia. If he does well enough, could even be on the 2024-2028 ticket.

Yes but with VA governors it's always a short show.

He has a difficult future like most VA governors given the single term limit.

I'm more relieved than excited that Youngkin will be taking over as Governor.

Northam has now spent years pushing the "equity" agenda - it feels like we've all been held hostage to his need to atone for wearing blackface in college 40+ years ago. And McAuliffe had no principles and was just going to cut deals to make whatever constituencies could claim they were essential to getting him elected happy.

With Youngkin, we can at least hit the pause button for a while and figure out what policy approaches make sense and are working to benefit Virginians, and which ones aren't working and need to be discarded or reconsidered.

We really need to send flowers to Randi Weingarten and thank her for appearing at the rally McAuliffe held a few days before the election. That may have been the final straw that guaranteed Youngkin's victory.

there is no single term limit. You can serve two terms, just not consecutive.

I don't understand how social progress = too leftist.

Social progress at the expense of the individual tax dollar is too leftist. I don't care what the CPC says - nothing is free. At least the McAuliffe campaign didn't try to breathe that bs into a bag.

No, because he's a multi-gazillionaire private equity investor who made his money buying companies and sucking them dry. Why anyone would want someone with that business experience running their state government is beyond me.

His *campaign* was brilliant.

He won't be able to fulfill most of his promises.

I'm excited!

OP, I am thrilled about Governor Glenn Youngkin. I can't remember ever being so excited about a race before in my life. He is a true gentleman, articulate, smart, funny, and kind. I think he'll be an astounding governor and I wish him all the best.

I am a teacher, and I’m excited! It’ll be good to have that awful bigot Northam out of office.

This. And I met someone yesterday who knows him personally and professionally. He had nothing good to say about Youngkin. Thinks he will be a disaster.
