I’ve never voted republican in a presidential election and I’d agree with this. The thing is that both parties have lurched to the extreme and only support the tail ends of the bell shaped curve. This is the problem with a "both sides" argument like this. Comparing Trumpism to the Left is false equivalence. Trump started out with his racist crap questioning Obama's citizenship and promoting all his lies about his people "can't believe what they're finding" stuff. Trump separated families at the boarder, gave comfort racists, bigots and NAZIs marching though Charlottesville. He wanted to call out the military on largely peaceful protests in DC. He subverted National Interests to try to get the President of Ukraine to bear false witness against Biden before the election. He used campaign funds to pay silence money to porn stars. He didn't pay taxes on his supposed billions for over 10 years and refused to release his tax returns. Any he tried to overturn (and still tries) a free and fair election and to crazily dispute the results saying it was "stolen" without any evidence. He politicized mask wearing during a global pandemic and denied it was a problem that should be addressed for precious months. This, folks, is a man who shouldn't be let anywhere near the halls of power, let alone leader of the free world. He's an international embarrassment. If you support and continue to support this guy, YOU either have a character problem, you're ignorant, or both. Sorry folks.

I do agree with this. This man separated children from their parents and started his candidacy based on Obama’s birth certificate. He refused to use the defense production act so people could get appropriate PPE when COVID started. This is not simply “I don’t want my taxes raised so I vote Republican”. A vote for Trump is an indication of your values and an indicator that you profoundly lack empathy. It is actually a gift to know that about a person before you decide whether or not to accept a date.

That said, I've had FBs who were Democrat and, although I never discussed politics, if it came up I never let on I wasn't in full sync with her politically just to not ruin the sex.
