Throw gasoline on them and then light them on fire? I cannot get my mind around this. Why would this be done if not a personal vendetta?

Given that they waited to identify the son and the housekeeper for a day or so, I'm guessing the person who was still alive was either the mother or father, and likely the father if he was the key to them getting/not getting what they wanted. They probably left him for dead and poured gas on all the bodies before lighting the fire. (Ugh, feel sick typing that.) If that's the case, perhaps the father was still able to communicate something to the medics/firefighters.

Jacqueline Rizik, another neighbor, said that she saw firefighters carry a woman from the house on a stretcher. Rizik said that it appeared that firefighters tried to perform CPR before the woman was taken away in an ambulance.

I am a neighbor - Amy was pulled out on a stretcher. Medics attempted CPR.

EMT here -- we begin chest compressions in so many circumstances that might surprise a lay person. As an outsider reading this along with you all, I wouldn't assume that Ms. Savapoulos was clearly alive at the time EMTs encountered her simply because CPR (ABC) was undertaken.

That woman was alive and died later

It sounds to me that it has to be someone associated with the martial arts studio, like a contractor or a worker who overheard them discussing the money/payment. Whatever the money was specifically intended for at the MA studio, would be my focus of the investigation. Who it was originally for and who was around when it was discussed.

FOX 5 has also learned that a Domino's pizza delivery was made late Wednesday night just before midnight at the Savopoulos' house. The delivery man says he left two pizzas at the front door and there was an envelope with cash left outside.

I can't possibly read through 128 pages of this story but like many I am transfixed by it and live a few blocks from them. My best guess from all the known facts/rumors is this was related to his business dealings. Frankly his business dealings seem a little odd/shady -- a hedge fund that nobody has really ever heard of, based in Puerto Rico. The guy had plenty of money and connections but for all we know there was some very shady stuff going on. Not trying to victim-blame but there has to be some crazy personal shit going on to kill a 10-year old boy. If this was some douchebag random thug from SE or PG County they'd have arrested him already. And I doubt you'd pick that house unless you knew it well because I'm sure there was plenty of security, or at least you'd assume there was tons of security, not to mention a few blocks from Naval Observatory and a shitload of Secret Service protecting all the embassies around there.

I can't fathom how this particular detail is the one that people are shocked by.

Agree 100%. Someone lost a bunch of money and I bet they felt he destroyed their life so he/they destroyed his.

I think it's what another PP said. It just smacks of someone who is brazen and unashamed of what is happening.

Well if the ordering 2 pizza's and leaving the money outside on a step in an envelope isn't strange to you...then you're right..you can't fathom.

There are a ton of hedge funds though. It is just an investment structure, right? There isn't a hedge fund registry or something is there?

The fire was started next to the son's bed and he was burned so badly they still haven't id'd him yet. (nbc4)

According to NBC4, investigators have also ruled out the possibility that this is gang related. However they admit that the suspects did "make mistakes."
