Call the FBI. They have a pretty good track record on investigating alleged crimes. What is wrong with that option?

They are attempting to connect his client with the FBI.

Senate Judiciary Republicans have responded to Michael Avenatti

From CNN's Ariane De Vouge

Republicans on the Senate Judiciary committee staff have responded to Michael Avenatti, who is representing a third Brett Kavanaugh accuser, in an email.

The Republicans said that committee investigators have "immediately started looking" in the allegations, according to a committee source.

In the email, they ask Avenatti if his client is willing to speak to investigators and asked him when his client is available.

They also provided Avenatti with a list of FBI field offices.

Democratic staffers were copied on the Republican’s email to Avenatti.

Oh, ffs. The FBI needs to investigate and gather evidence as part of Kavanaugh's BACKGROUND CHECK.

Why hasn’t Ford submitted the therapist’s notes and the polygraph results that the committee has asked for prior to testimony?

What I don't get about people who claim this is some democratic conspiracy... how would they decide who draws the short stick to be one of the handful of women who makes an accusation and has to take the barrage of criticism and loss of privacy for the rest of their lives?

Everyone should be very careful reading these statements. Avenetti is a smart lawyer and so wording is deliberate and important. The statement stops short of saying that she was raped by Kavanaugh and/or Judge. It also stops short of saying she witnessed them raping someoen elase.

What it does state is horrifying enough - that Judge and Kavanaugh were involved in attempts to groom women for sexual assault and appear to have been involved in a conspiracy to commit rape.

Please note - I am not disputing this woman, but it’s important not to mischaracterize what she is saying, mischaracterizations that are later shot down are the basis of undermining women’s claims, enabling people to say she is lying.

+1

I don't read this as saying she was raped *specifically by Kavanaugh or Judge*, but that they were at the parties and were part of the culture there. All of which is gross - but is not the same as saying Kavanaugh himself is a rapist. More than he was part of a disgusting and entitled group of boys, some of whom raped.

I worry about Avenetti. On the one hand, he seemed to do right by Stormy. But he does seem to be acting a little bit clever here. I believe this woman that girls were raped at these parties, and that Kavanaugh and Judge were at the parties where girls were raped. I worry that Avenetti is trying to imply Kavanaugh did the raping without coming out and saying so.

To be fair, if she was knocked out and semi-conscious she has no idea who raped her. She does say she's aware of efforts by Kavanaugh and others to spike drinks at parties.

This is the PP you're responding to. And 100% yes - I agree. I also think it's outrageous that Kavanaugh is still in the running for this job.

Someone should simply file a charge with the Montgomery County Police Department.

Why has not one. single. person. done that simple thing????

can't believe you're a real person

I am and a woman and a Democrat who voted for Hillary. Also a lawyer. This campaign is transparently political and the allegations are drafted to be vague guilt-by-association nonsense with timing that is ridiculously and transparently politically-motivated. It’s a campaign to discredit him based on him being at parties where bad things may have happened. You are a sheep and a part of the brainless mob for believing this stuff.

sorry, don't believe you

What the Hillary-voting poster says is essentially true and I don't why people are not believing her. Where I differ with the poster is that what she describes is a bad thing. She obviously favors a totally fact-based legalistic approach. I don't think the Republicans in the Senate care about facts and facts would be lost on them. So, while a legalistic approach might be honorable, it would also be a failure. The one way to defeat Kavanaugh it to do so politically. If that means "guilt-by-association" wherein the association is with gang-rape, I am perfectly comfortable with that. If Kavanaugh wants to admit to teenage indiscretions, so be it. But, lying about it makes him unfit for the court.

Not to mention, I'm pretty sure it's illegal to spike girls' drinks in order for them to gang raped by other boys even if you don't do the raping yourself.

"I also witnessed efforts by Mark Judge, Brett Kavanaugh and others to cause girls to become inebriated and disoriented so they could be 'gang raped' in a side room or bedroom by a 'train' of numerous boys."

This isn't just "they were at the same parties".

Lawyer-woman-Hillary-supporter here. That sentence is such legalese and basically could mean she saw him pour women a drink!!! This is lawyer bullshit, people!

Signed,
A lawyer!

Nope she said beginning in section 11 that she saw and others saw them put drugs in girls’ drinks without their consent. As a lawyer you should know that is illegal if true.

Only thing I can imagine would motivate a woman to cause such turmoil for herself and her family is seeking justice and exposing the truth

I didn't understand her to say that, but there are many influential Democrats who do say that Kavanaugh is qualified. Sadly, elites often stick together.

Thank you. It is ludicrous.
So, what is her evidence? Dates? Witnesses? Proof?

It hasn't even hit the major news sites yet and you're discounting it because additional information hasn't been presented? I think it's pretty clear that you've already decided what you will and will not believe regardless of what is said.

The affidavit is online. What should I be waiting for? You don’t think waiting for literally the day before he testifies shows how politically motivated this campaign is? Sorry, the man was nominated long ago and has been sitting on the bench of an important court for years. This is total bullshit.

Creepy porn lawyer (CPL) clearly said there were multiple witnesses, one of whom was assaulted. That might lead one to believe that the affidavit is the first document to be released.

Also, it's not unusual for women not to come forward until someone else does it first. It's called preference bias -- people prefer not to say things they experience or believe when they know they'll be punished for it. It sounds like Ms. Swetnick contacted a lawyer fairly recently and they've worked to get their ducks in a row before going public. Yes, I believe CPL timed it for impact but that says more about him than about the allegations.

It does not add up in the Universe of Logic, but that appears to be a universe in which republicans do not live.

At the LEAST, it's an additional corroboration of his drinking, partying ways, which is in direct conflict with the categorical denials of such behavior from the other day, and before.

He has never denied drinking and partying. Which, back then, was actually pretty normal behavior.

Where you just as upset about the GOP withholding 90% of his written documents? Or that they released 56,000 pages one day before the senate judiciary hearings?

Lol! Their lives aren’t turned upside down. These are liberal women whose liberal bubbles are celebrating them. He’s qualified because of his legal background. Drinking at teenage parties where bad things may have happened is not a disqualification. It’s sad how much of your identity and ability to reason is caught up in the Democratic Party and taking down Trump. Direct some of that critical thinking at yourself and your own party.

Does anyone else find it interesting, and telling, that the only accusations that have come out have been from over 30 years ago? Nothing recent......

In other words.... unprovable either way.
