The blood letting continues.

Old news. We already talked about that on this forum. Try to keep up.

It's hard to keep up with the flood of teams leaving the DA for the ECNL.

It's only been 4 teams. But I guess then last year, you must have been beside yourself with anguish at the 50+ teams that left the ECNL.

You have some odd math on both counts.

VDA, Hawks, Loudon, PDA, FC Stars, Seattle United, Indy Fire...Oh and more dual clubs still set to announce they are done with the DA. Stay tuned folks....

Loudoun doesn't belong on that list. They are getting an ECNL. Good for them, but they didn't leave the DA, because they were never given one. Instead, US Soccer gave it to FCV and they will not give a DA to 2 clubs that close together because of historical problems with that when they did it boys' side (which is how Richmond Utd was a forced merger).

My DD is at neither, so this isn't a statement for or against. It's just a fact. They didn't leave the DA for the ECNL. That list is still smaller than the ones from PPs.

To add the list together

Clubs that completely left the ECNL:
• FC Virginia
• Penn Fusion
• Colorado Rush
• Real SoCal
• East Meadows
• Charlotte Soccer Academy
• Sockers FC
• Boston Breakers
• Eagles SC
* Lonestar SC
* Boca United
* Weston FC
AND:
* SC del Sol

Clubs that made the ECNL team their B team:
• Crossfire Premier
• SoCal Blues
• San Diego Surf
• Eclipse Select
• FC Dallas
• NTH Tophat
• CASL, which then created NC Courage for the DA and NCFC Youth for the ECNL
• Concorde Fire
• West Coast FC
* FC Dallas
* Dallas Texans
AND:
* Solar Soccer Club
(I’m excluding clubs that are leaving, for obvious reasons).

By all accounts, there are some clubs that became DA clubs that weren’t ECNL but are clearly top level, and could comfortably handle such a league and have records of NT players include:
• New York City FC.
• Oakwood Soccer Club
• Beach FC

As for VDA, they were collapsing anyways. Their U17s and U19s were terrible, and the 03 team is hemorrhaging players. And the coach turnover has been so bad, they need a revolving door, so that’s no loss to the DA. The ECNL can have them.

Indiana Fire had multiple teams struggling as well, so that doesn’t appear to be a loss either. ECNL can have them too.

What is the list of clubs that made DA their 2nd team and ECNL the first?

There is only one I thought.

Mclean ECNL roster spots have historically been filled with Loudoun County Kids. Very few player at Mclean ECNL are from that area.

Those same kids now must pass FCV DA, Loudoun ECNL, and Spirit DA, just to get to Mclean. Not to mention Arlington DA on the opposite side

I have a feeling that once the existing teams age out (03 and above), Mclean will find themselves scrambling for talent.

You are a little late to the party. Everyone knows McLean is done, no surprise there. Clyde will retire and ...... Poof ....... all she wrote.

Focus on bashing Loudoun. That is more interesting anyway.

Girls DA Guy is on a rampage. For anyone reading these threads as long as I have, I gotta say he has single handedly devoted himself to his cause of stomping out ECNL (very well) these past few weeks.

McLean is dead, Loudoun will be beat, and Braddock lost in the shuffle. That is the slow death of ECNL in this arms race in NoVA. GDA will not be great until these people realize it and finally come on over and talent gets concentrated. Right now, GDA sucks. USSDA is incompetent.

If you have a 2009, DA may be the destination by then, but until then it is a dismal environment and one big cluster fack. It is the same old club's zip code fare served up hot and fresh as ELITENESS.

In a way, I wish Spirit would come in and crush them all with some scholarships. But that ain't gonna happen.

Yup, if you are a YNT player and you are committed you are free to walk away, play HS soccer your senior year and move on to the next chapter. Many kids do, especially in VA because HS soccer is the Spring season. There is not much more incentive to play DA for the final 6-4 months of your school career.

Just to be clear, he played 2 years of high school.

He played for FC Richmond, not da

"After 12 years with FC Richmond, this late-October, Sunday afternoon contest marked the last time Taitague will play at Huguenot Park, the last time he will play on the field where his soccer career began when he first laced up in FC Richmond blue as a 5-year-old."

You are unhinged and semi-bipolar. Best part of it...your daughter doesn't play in either league.

"My daughter is better than your daughter". That is really the heart of this thread. Lets cut the crap about ECNL & DA. Nobody really cares about that. It's all about being in a better position than your neighbor. Ok, lets go ....

basically correct.
