Not everyone, but for the current walkers it is additional burden |
It's not really a "burden" if it's normal for other kids. This is just another example of Wootton parents believing they deserve special treatment. |
They didn’t know Crown was going to be built with even the possibility that Wootton would be closed and their kids moved there. Had this been known at the time, anyone on the BOE living in the Wootton cluster would have been pressured to publicly oppose it. |
This type of school closure hasn’t happened in a very long time, and most certainly wasn’t pushed through at warp speed. |
Impossible!? Oh, heavens! Alert the media! Google is making impossible claims now  https://imgur.com/a/9JgyvgB |
Which other schools that walkers are converted to bussers in this boundary study??? |
The trolls here are very unreasonable anyway. No other schools have walkers converted to bussers, let alone all walkers of the school . Yet they claim Wootton wants special treatment. We’re getting “special treatment”, as only our school gets closed. |
During rush hour it’s impossible. |
Ok? And all the other kids in MCPS that have 20-30 minute bus rides? |

"Had this been known at the time, anyone on the BOE living in the Wootton cluster would have been pressured to publicly oppose it."
Well we certainly don't have the ability to pressure anyone now who lives in the Wootton cluster because none of them do. I do believe Churchill has representation . Can we get help there? |
With what? Is the Wootton neighborhood going to volunteer extra taxes to pay for a school we don't need? |
You act like riding a bus is some horrible offense, completely oblivious to all the kids who currently do it. |
You act like it’s no big deal to change Walker zone to bus zone. People specifically want to be walkers. If they’re ok with bussing they would not have to buy at walk zone. Do this to any other school and see how they react. |

From ChatGPT,
It’s unlikely that Option H will be adopted exactly as proposed, given the strong community opposition and MCPS’s typical responsiveness to feedback. A compromise that incorporates some elements of Option H or an entirely different alternative designed to address capacity without relocating Wootton is far more probable. |
It jumped the shark ages ago. Nothing new to speak of in 100 pages. |
