So are we calling it? VLC is a failed program.

Bunch of entitled parents taking their shiny lacrosse balls and finding someplace where they will be told that Jimmy can play D1 lacrosse if you pay us enough money.

False. After a year and a half I’ve not seeing Any improvement in the team parents and kids decided enough is enough.

This group of kids have pretty much played together for 4+ years since this team is originally a Cavs team so did they just suddenly stall out because of coaching or their limited skills?

Not sure they stalled out. They won HOCO AAA last spring. A couple of dads had very unrealistic expectations and no patience. Remember the posts in another thread about the best goalie in the age group? Those dads were very vocal and a poison. They are now BLCs problem (where the so called best goalie is 2nd or 3rd string).

The really sad part is there is still a core of really good lacrosse players and families that have been left behind who are fighting to make it work.

Fighting to make it work? You mean arrogantly trying to bully your way into the no drama team my kid has played on for years? We see what you all do to the teams you touch. Your fight needs to involve building your own team, trying to get into a new one, or enjoying your summer that just opened up. Tryouts begin in July. Your busted team is already creating so much chaos! Keep it to yourselves.

No one from the Tallon team wants to step down into the Herin team. Any option that follows that logic has been forced from VLC club leadership. The remaining families on the Tallon team are no-drama who just want their kids to play. The chaos was from departed families and the club leadership (Director and Program Coordinator). No one is arrogantly trying to bully their way onto that team.

Is this from the Cavs merger?

Did someone from VLC actually post that their goalie is the best in the age group? I have never seen the kid play so nothing against him, but this is an extremely strong goalie class. MadLax and the Hawks both have an elite goalie, and Next Level has two. Nobody on those teams who is well informed about the landscape would dare brag that one of those four goalies is the best in the age group, out of respect to the other three. The VLC Dads sound a bit foolish in my humble opinion.

Folks need to relax. You'll never finish the marathon at this pace.

Is this year 7th grade? Did you really provide a scouting report or you know all the players at four different clubs? Who is foolish?

This who thread is foolish and I’m beginning to think lacrosse parents are the lowest common denominator. Nobody should be calling out particular players. Kids are off limits. Shame on a parent who put a target on their kid and shame on anyone who didn’t just let that go. The goalie talk needs to die so stop it:

It makes sense to me that if one team folds then the remaining players should be able to join the other team. How many kids did they lose?

The goalie talk us clearly someone at VLC trying to distract from the real headline that VLC is a failing club that is losing team after team. How else could you explain someone bringing up a post that is 6 months old.
Anonymous
I dunno, whole lotta college commits in 23s and more to come for 24s (speaking of goalies...). But go ahead. You're the expert apparently.

I don’t know. I looked at VLC’s commits page and there’s a smattering of good schools the rest are fairly pedestrian. But I digress - my point is VLC’s youth teams have struggled and failed (there are 3 teams that existed last year that don’t this year). Bringing up a six month old post about a player on a team that no longer exists is a ploy

The question is whether the 2028 departures were the fault of the club or due to misguided parents. If a parent bragged on DCUM that a player is best in the age group, especially at a position where it is easy to identify the kid, that goes a long way toward answering the question.

Who cares?
