Not false. So there was no improvement for the team that won their HOCO division less than a year ago? And competed well at summer tournaments with a different coach? Reports were that fall was rough. Some called it a disaster. Fine. Fall ball is supposed to be a disaster. The poster calling out the entitled parents sounds far closer to the truth. |
So almost 50% of the parents were entitled? Does that even make sense to you? |
Winner winner chicken dinner. Two of the dads are particularly douchy as well. Now they are BLCs problem. Hopefully BLC will carry their kids to the greatness they are entitled to. |
This group of kids have pretty much played together for 4+ years since this team is originally a Cavs team so did they just suddenly stall out because of coaching or their limited skills? |

Not sure they stalled out. They won HOCO AAA last spring. A couple of dads had very unrealistic expectations and no patience. Remember the posts in another thread about the best goalie in the age group? Those dads were very vocal and a poison. They are now BLCs problem (where the so called best goalie is 2nd or 3rd string). The really sad part is there is still a core of really good lacrosse players and families that have been left behind who are fighting to make it work. |
Fighting to make it work? You mean arrogantly trying to bully your way into the no drama team my kid has played on for years? We see what you all do to the teams you touch. Your fight needs to involve building your own team, trying to get into a new one, or enjoying your summer that just opened up. Tryouts begin in July. Your busted team is already creating so much chaos! Keep it to yourselves. |

The 27 team blows up and then the 28 team blows up. Last year there were melt downs on one of the 29 teams. But it’s all the parents fault. C’mon how can a club have so many problems and put out such a mediocre teams and its never their fault. What are the odds? |

As a former VLC parent of a blown up team the club management and coach communication is horrendous. They have this whole hilarious sales pitch about creating D1 players all based on the coattails of absolute luck in recruiting some good athletes for a handful of classes. Bullock is a compete Neanderthal. |
| For those of us who have Nova kids looking to play travel this summer or fall what club should we be looking at? |
All clubs have their issues. Depends on the coach and the parent/player dynamics |
| Parent of a high school VLC player here. I hate to even say the r-word on DCUM, but how much of your frustration with lacrosse and VLC has to do with starting to see 7th graders either twice the size of your son, reclassed or both? |
In my opinion it was simply a run on the bank. Once families lost faith in VLC. It was a run for the doors. No one wants what happened to 2027 team to happened to their kid. There needs to be an FDIC for failed lacrosse programs. |
Options are Next Level (A and B team), MadLax (A and B team), BLC (not sure if they have one team or two), and VLC. Maybe True, maybe Hammers. The Annapolis Hawks and Baltimore Crabs are great, but an hour drive from Nova, and your son would have to be a very strong player to make their rosters. Any that I am missing? All these teams have a lot of happy campers, otherwise they would not exist. But they all have plenty of unhappy campers too. Welcome to the world of competitive, for-profit, travel sports in middle school. |
