Good to see that OPEC is only helpful to administrations they can buy off. Nice legacy Trump left. Grift is bad for America.

Let’s produce the oil we need!

The problem is American refineries need to retool for American supply, which is a different make up than OPEC oil. The retooling can’t happen overnight. But once the refineries are online, we can tell OPEC to kiss off!

The Keystone Pipeline that would carry tar sands crude from Canada for EXPORT to markets outside the US? Brilliant hot take!

DP. Oil is a effectively a worldwide commodity. Supplying more the world would reduce demand pressures and lower prices for everyone.

It’s just a pipeline. A pipeline does not produce new oil. The supply of oil is exactly the same with or without it.

Wrong. Production is always constrained by your capacity to transport. If you can produce 10 barrels of oil a day but can only transport 5 barrels per day it would be insane to produce more than 5 barrels.

Additionally, even if you have transport capacity, you’ll only produce barrels that are economic to produce. Shipping by rail is materially more expensive than shipping by pipe. Consequently, the marginal barrel under a pipeline regime is not being produced under a rail regime.

Keystone is irrelevant to the discussion of current oil prices and current oil supply.

Oh, I see that OPEC has chosen to what happens if Putin's side takes over the U.S.
Timing is suspect

So ask, why is Saudi Arabia siding with the Russians?

Because the Biden regime is the enemy of all people, both foreign and domestic.

Republicans have gone so far off the rails that I honestly can't tell if this is satire.

Sheiks prefer Slavic women to American women.

In early September, United States Secretary of Energy, Jennifer Granholm, told Reuters that President Joe Biden was considering extending the release of oil from America’s emergency stockpiles, the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR), through October, and thus beyond the date when the program had been set to end. But then, a few hours later, an official with the Department of Energy called Reuters and contradicted Granholm, saying that the White House was not, in fact, considering more SPR releases. Five days later, the White House said it was considering refilling the SPR, thereby proposing to do the exact opposite of what Granholm had proposed.

The confusion around the Biden administration’s petroleum policy was cleared up yesterday after a senior official revealed that the White House had made a secret offer to buy up to 200 million barrels of OPEC+ oil to replenish the SPR in exchange for OPEC+ not cutting oil production. The official said the White House wanted to reassure OPEC+ that the US “won’t leave them hanging dry.” The fact that this offer was made through the White House, not the Department of Energy, may explain why a representative of the Department called Reuters to take back the remarks of Granholm, who has shown herself to be out-of-the-loop, and at a loss for words, relating to key administration decisions relating to oil and gas production.

I've said it many times before, but the US should just go make nice with Iran. The Iranian regime is absolutely horrible, but they are no worse than the Saudis. There is no reason to continue to shun Iran from the world oil markets and allow Saudi to dictate.

It’t not. That’s how far gone the Repubs are. Vote and donate accordingly.

Biden must declare war against non-nuclear opec countries and take the oil.

Just straight up finish the crusades and take the spoils.

Iranians won’t play ball with their oil - that’s how whole problem started back in the 50s

They had issues with BP
