He had them 2 years ago when they were 11. Did he really train them in such a way that no other coach could? |
| He got lucky. No coach is so amazing that he can make that much of an impact UNLESS they coach the same group from Ulittle for many years and they are still amazing as teens. |
He built a powerhouse before handing them off to CW, including attracting several of the better 2013s in the area to come play for him. No one of note left during his time there (other than to follow him when he left). The team is still a powerhouse and will be as long as they stay together. He must have done something right. Or at least knew enough not to screw it up, which is better than a lot of the crappy coaches around. |
| Wow, the state of youth soccer in nova is soooo good! |
Am i hallucinating or are you referring to a team of little 6th-7th grade girls as a "powerhouse" that he somehow built when they were...u9? Thanks for the laughs!!!! |
Yeah but how many coaches routinely quit on a team mid year?!? He didn't go back to Union, because he was never at Union. He was not happy at NVA why? Because they have standards like no fighting with another staff coach, or show up to practices and not lie about your whereabouts?! |
| Welcome, Union parents |
yall gotta relax
|
DB go build another one. Prove the haters wrong!! Also speak up for yourself in the other chat. If your are not squarely to blame let the chat know. |
hello NVA parents as well. |
This year why didn't DB coach that powerhouse team he built?! I'm hearing most of them didn't want to play for him again, so CW took them to convince them and ensure they would come over to Union |
Oh, look, the adjective police! There is plenty there to criticize DB about, but to not give the man credit for developing, over the better part of three years, one of the best younger teams in the region is dumb. |
Seems like he was more lucky than anything to just get a good group of girls. Why didn't he coach them this year?? Because the majority of them would not play for him again, that's why CW had that team instead. |
Developing? The 2013s were the best team in the area back at u9 and they're still the best team in the area at u13. He started with a team of phenomenal players; he didn't 'develop' them from a mid-level team to a great team. His role was to keep the players together and then recruit additional top players. Not so hard to recruit top players when you start with the best team in the area. Let's not pretend he isn't a good coach, but he didn't do some magic with the 2013 age group that other coaches couldn't have done with the same group of girls. |
Also, this isnt the only team he has coached, just the only one that had success. Seems more of a one off then a theme of a success. |
