Don’t know why a coach would leave the ECNL to move to a lower league and less exposure? No girls GFR coaching positions are open unless NM doesn’t plan to be the full time coach and DB steps in as an assistant ? |
It sounds like he was asked to leave. |
| 3 clubs in 3 years.... sounds like a keeper |
Lol - you answered your own question. |
Really?!?! Is he leaving FVU? Or is he going to be able to keep a foot in both clubs? |
He said peace out to FVU |
He said peace out to FVU, or did FVU say peace out to him? |
Is he starting right away at GFR? Is he taking over some of GD's teams? |
Regardless of his recent vagabond nature, he did develop the best 2013 girls team in the region while at MYS. That didn't happen by accident. |
On paper maybe that sounds bad but he was with MYS/Union for many years, went to NVA and was not happy there and then went back to Union. Shortly after he went back to Union they went through a bunch of changes he probably wasn't aware of when he made that choice. Sounds like the girls program at Union has been a bit of a disaster this year so can't blame him for not wanting to stay there. I agree it doesn't look great but there are lots of coaches who hop around a bit before they find the right fit. |
True but makes you wonder if that's the age group he should stick and develop kids rather than coaching older girls because since then the well has run dry. Or was it just perfect timing on his part with that group of girls? Time will tell because you can't just hang your hat and crown yourself Pep because you had a group of good 9-11 year olds. People on this board tend to crap on gloating about Ulittles but we're supposed to bend the knee to coach that had success with Ulittles for 2 years? |
Please…the guy is a habitual quitter and does so in the middle of a season. That’s what he will be known as now. No one should trust that he will continue through a full season especially when the going gets tough. He’s not someone that should be coaching at higher levels - he doesn’t have the soccer IQ or the mental toughness. |
I came across him during the ULittles when he was in McLean and he’s not a coach that I’d want having coaching my younger kids either. He’s far from a role model. |
Hopping around "a bit' is different from bailing on your yearlong commitment multiple years in a row. Coaches and families commit to a full year after tryouts. |
