BRYC talk

Just want to say that I haven’t heard seen or heard about this type of thing with BRYC girls, with coaches asking their own players to pay them for additional training. So it isn’t a club thing.

BRYC boys, girls, and coaches do nothing during the summer.

Enjoy your and your kids' summer.

No our u14 now u15 ECNL boys are playing Super Y.

BRYC does provide training and pick up opportunities in the summers, at least on the girls' side. And I've had kids in two other clubs (ECNL and DA), and their summer offerings were similar or less. I know it's fun to bash BRYC but this particular slam doesn't really fly.

Besides, not a bad idea for kids to take a break from structured soccer for a few weeks after showcase/playoffs - they continue to work out, go to ID camps, play other sports, etc. on their own.

The boys ecnl teams are all playing super Y with their coaches . So they are doing summer all together just funneling the money to BW CJ and As.

Why are people so obsessed with where the money flows on these boards? They all act like they are writing personal checks straight to the coach. If a coach doesn't show up in a 92 Altima he is ripping you off. Soccer isn't free, we all know this but you are also not paying these coaches directly.

At BRYC the coaches provide multiple ways for you to funnel money to them. Some call if a conflict of interest.

Such a strange comment. Funnel money? You make it sound like they're doing something illegal. They're not. They run a business - a few of them, actually - whereby they train, coach and organize youth soccer both individual and as part of a team. Parents pay to train their kids. They provide a service. If you want that service, you pay for it. This is what we call "business". If you don't want the services, don't pay for them. It's an easy, peasy concept.

And there's no conflict. BRYC knows that they provide personal training. BRYC is well aware of what NVU is. BRYC does not operate a separate Super Y. I'm sure BRYC is well aware of the personal training, NVU, and other business opportunities. Clearly, it's not a conflict if the club doesn't provide it.

I don't begrudge anyone their entrepreneurial ventures. Good for them.

Exactly. There are some salty ass people on this message board. Every single club has coaches who do personal training or some type of soccer related for profit venture. No different then a teacher working at a school who does private tutoring on the weekends or summer.

Yeah it really sucked when I didn't pay for that tutoring package and then my kid's math teacher would not seat him in class the following week. Give me a break - it is not at all comparable.

If BRYC is okay with their Coaches collecting hundreds to thousands of dollars for private training and trips from their players, well that tells you something about BRYC. What Coaching and Training is not covered while serving as the player's Coach? But I am sure it has zero impact on who is selected for the team and who plays what minutes.

If that’s all the shade you can sling at the club, to be frank, it’s a lot of nothing. Kids want extra training from their coaches? To me that’s a positive reflection on the coaches and believe it or not, lots of coaches do this at other clubs…HP Elite comes to mind. Kids not getting all of the training they need during organized practices? Again, believe it or not, lots of not most of the players do train outside of practice individually, with their teammates and with other trainers. You spin this like this is a negative at bryc. I see this as a positive reflection on the passion of the players and what they think of their coaches. Go somewhere else with your weak sauce.

It is absurd to expect that individuals can’t have their own business outside of their regular job. Also the club does not offer SUper Y so there’s no conflict of interest. On the other hand it helps the players to prepare for the upcoming session. Do this during winter break, indoor soccer or futsal snd we’ll be signing for it too.

The TD could bring super y to BRYC . But instead he brings it to NVUFC the club he owns so he can hire his buddies that he also hires to work at BRYC. They bring the BRYC players and charge them a high amount and keep the money out of BRYC . When he leaves BRYC and takes his coaches to start a full club at NVUFC dont ask yourself what happened.

This is going to happen right after the BRYC FCV merger. The new club will be BRYCNVUFCV. Now say that club name three times real quickly

There is no merger-all fairy tales. Both clubs have selected their players for next year and those players are ordering new uniforms. Not happening.

Do us a favor. You should NEVER, EVER have lunch with someone from another company in the same industry. Certainly never send a resume again to anyone or have a casual conversation with someone who might offer you a job 10 years from now. Did BRYC sign all of their staff to non-compete ridden NDAs? Unless the answer is "yes", mind your own damn business. He's going to be there for multiple years. If he decides to move on at some point, more power to him.

He has been great with my kid, who chose BRYC over first team offers from every club in the area. Thrilled with the decision.

I agree with this, although most clubs do have a rule about advertising to players who are members of the club but have not yet also been customers of the coach directly. So HP Elite does not send info on its programs to kids at VDA who have not independently approached them and/or already attended an HP Elite program. Same with Futstars and Arlington. I assume that BRYC has a similar rule.

As bad as a showing BRYC boys have had in ECNL. You would think they would have a super Y team just to attract new talent in. The fact that their TD is using to rake in the money at his own NVUFV shows how dysfunctional things are at BRYC. He has 2 BRYC coaches coaching super Y. If Im BRYC Im furious this clown is using our talent under his clubs name.

How tiny is your wanker that you have to go on here and berate a youth soccer club with every ridiculous thing you can dream up?

The PP does ask a legitimate question. Why wouldn’t you bring the Super Y program to BRYC where you’re the TD at?
