You can phrase it however you want, but we’re saying the same thing. A decrease in families with resources only means bad things for the years to come. |
I agree- the loss of families that will do things like volunteer to run reflections for the school, organize the school pictures (major PTA fundraiser), serve on ACTL, run the auction, etc. Loosing those families does adversely impact the school for all students. |
Exactly.. It's awful. |
Yes, it's terrible. We should have prioritized opening schools over opening bars/restaurants. And we shouldn't be prematurely sending kids back 5 days/wk. Fortunately, we aren't far off following CDC guidelines. |
Can't wait for the firing of teachers when enrollment drops |
So vile. F off. |
And when abysmal SOL scores come out. |
You really think that will happen? I don’t. All the closures have just shown that the schools exist as jobs programs for all manner of individuals, not just teachers but school staff, bus drivers, cafeteria employees ....... they never did any massive layoffs even though the buildings have been largely closed for a year. |
DP and I do. I think the cuts will come to specials and to specialists jobs. They will cut those to save some funding. They will probably also try and encourage early retirement. |
If schools get down to closer to 100% capacity then they won't need some of the extra staff brought on during the last few years. No more than regular turnover - just won't need to backfill some positions. Not much for the teacher haters to get excited about. |
