Aaaand your qualification to make this distinction is? |
The undisputed elites: Harvard, Stanford Yale, MIT Princeton The rest are pretenders needing ED contracts to boost their yield. |
#18 in US News. Not even 15...by far the lowest standards of admissions |
Agree. May add Caltech and Columbia as borderline |
| The amount of BS, baloney, and cluelessness on this thread is so entertaining! Thank you all for providing me with numerous laughs! |
+1. Duke doesn't belong on that list either... |
+1 Muppets played by NSW, |
Oh JFC. Cornell has "by far" the largest # of undergraduates (15K) of the ivies - and thus slots to fill. The next largest undergrad class, at Penn, is 10K students. |
| They should not use liberal arts for this ranking, it is garbage degrees |
Looks like you could have spent a bit more time learning grammar. |
Like math (one of the liberal arts)? |
Lol! People who post, went to college, and still don't know what liberal arts means!
|
Notre Dame does not have ED. Not sure about the rest of the T20 |
Based on my understanding, Cornell is made up of 7 or 8 undergrad colleges and admission decisions are undertaken independently within the respective colleges itself. Candidates apply directly to the college of their choice. Admission rates range from 3% to 20% depending on college. Among the Ivies, I can think of only Columbia that is like this. Not sure if Penn is the same. |
Based on what? Rice, Caltech, Ga tech, and Harvey Mudd are wayyyy better schools than Princeton, Yale or Harvard for things like engineering. Harvard and Yale are great for getting inflated grades in useless fields that are paths to become a consultant or lawyer who gets paid big bucks to outsource jobs or ruin the country later as a politician, hedge fund manager, corporate lobbyist, or some other sell out who ships jobs overseas. |
