Crazy.

Crazy how?

By any standard, Mudd comes out on top or near the top of any engineering school evaluation.

I have no skin in the game, did not go there, and have no kids there. But for aspiring engineers, I'd rank it somewhere near MIT.

+1 Mudd is the college with no grad school equivalent to MIT. Hard to get into. Infamously hard to survive. And I’ve never had a kid interested in it either. But, it’s impressive.

But does it have colonial roots? /s

I think the 5 consortium is relatively new. It's not like Harvard, Yale, Columbia that go back to the colonial period with their baggage in the age of BLM.

Expected for schools that refused to play USNews ranking game for years. Had they played the game, they would be in T20s.

Emory will pass Cornell eventually. DC will explode

Not St Johns. Any full pay DMV kid with a mix of A's and B's and an SAT over 1300 can get in there.

DP- I agree- Reed should be in th 30s if they played the game, but St. John’s is probably where it should be.

Why is Emory so high? Does it know how to play the game or is there some kind of amazing draw?
Anonymous
Duke outside the top 10? Maybe they're on a decline

Kind of surprised to see UF so high
Anonymous
Cornell dropped to #18, lol. It's basically not an Ivy league any more

Oberlin is declining

What was it last year?

As someone in academia, these rankings are a joke. Schools manipulate numbers and move things around to improve rankings. I really wish students/parents/alums would stop caring about these stupid rankings so colleges and universities could stop playing the game and focus their energy elsewhere.

USNWR is a cancer on the whole system. The rankings change for stupid reasons every year just so they can sell crap.

The dirty secret is that it generally doesn't really matter where you go to school for undergrad. Successful people will be successful no matter where they go. Without the added dumb pressure of USNWR rankings, college tuition would be lower.
