But does it have colonial roots? /s |
| No women's schools? |
I think the 5 consortium is relatively new. It's not like Harvard, Yale, Columbia that go back to the colonial period with their baggage in the age of BLM. |
They are in the US News National Liberal Arts College ranking 1 Williams 2 Amherst 3 Swarthmore 4 Wellesley 4 Pomona 6 Bowdoin 6 Claremont Mck 6 USNA 9 Middlebury 9 Carleton 9 Washing&Lee 9 Hamilton 13 Vassar 13 Grinnell 15 Davidson 15 Smith 15 Haverford 15 Colby 15 USMA 20 Colgate 20 Wesleyan 22 Bates 22 U Richmond 22 Barnard 25 Harvey Mudd 25 Colorado College 27 McAlaster 28 Soka 28 Bryn Mawr 28 Kenyon 28 Scripps 28 USFA 33 Berea 34 Mt Holyoke 34 Bucknell 36 Oberlin 36 Holy Cross 36 Pitzer 36 Skidmore 40 Lafayette 40 Occidental 40 Thomas Aquinas 43 Franklin&Marsh 44 Union 44 Denison 44 Trinity 47 Whitman 47 Sewanee 47 Dickinson 47 DePauw 51 Conn College 52 Centre 52 Furman 54 Gettysburg 54 Rhodes 54 Spelman 54 Bard 54 St Lawrence 54 Wabash 54 Hillsdale 61 Agnes Scot 61 Wheaton (IL) 63 Lawrence 63 St Johns 63 Sarah Lawrence 63 Reed 67 St Olaf 67 Kalamazoo 69 College of Wooster 69 Wofford 69 VMI 72 Hobard&WillmSmith 72 Knox 72 Willamette 72 Muhlenburg 76 Lewis&Clark 76 Cornell Coll 76 St Johns 76 Bennington 80 Beloit 80 Illinois Wesleyan 80 Allegheny 80 St Mary's MD |

63 St Johns
63 Reed Expected for schools that refused to play USNews ranking game for years. Had they played the game, they would be in T20s. |
| Emory will pass Cornell eventually. DC will explode |
Not St Johns. Any full pay DMV kid with a mix of A's and B's and an SAT over 1300 can get in there. |
DP- I agree- Reed should be in th 30s if they played the game, but St. John’s is probably where it should be. |
Why is Emory so high? Does it know how to play the game or is there some kind of amazing draw? |
|
Duke outside the top 10? Maybe they're on a decline
Kind of surprised to see UF so high |
| Cornell dropped to #18, lol. It's basically not an Ivy league any more |
| Oberlin is declining |
What was it last year? |
| As someone in academia, these rankings are a joke. Schools manipulate numbers and move things around to improve rankings. I really wish students/parents/alums would stop caring about these stupid rankings so colleges and universities could stop playing the game and focus their energy elsewhere. |
|
USNWR is a cancer on the whole system. The rankings change for stupid reasons every year just so they can sell crap.
The dirty secret is that it generally doesn't really matter where you go to school for undergrad. Successful people will be successful no matter where they go. Without the added dumb pressure of USNWR rankings, college tuition would be lower. |
