That’s sad. I think freshmen should be high priority. Seniors too for job searching.
The colleges that are focused on freshmen are just trying to ensure they don’t defer and don’t enroll elsewhere. Introductory level classes are the easiest ones to do online from home. I am actually impressed with NU’s unique plan to bring back those that have higher level courses and labs that require on campus facilities.
I'm not "impressed" with any school that can't bring all its students back. This thread has many examples of schools that have figured out how to conduct massive testing and necessary isolation. I don't understand why that can't be replicated at schools like NU that have the resources (i.e. very large endowments) to make it happen.
I think the PP that is impressed, must have a student that is a JR or a SR!
We expected NU to pull this last minute stunt and our DD (a sophomore) is already physically in Evanston. She has virus inducted cough variant asthma and no way in hell is she getting back on an airplane to come home. What I do not know is if students already living off campus will be allowed access to common campus areas, such as the libraries. Anybody got any ideas about how that is going to play out?
