Good to see, though early to tell. One thing that worries me though is the staff numbers--staff are likely more vulnerable than students, more likely to spread to other communities (they don't live on campus) and to have contact with a lot of campus members (janitors, food workers, receptionists etc. encounter a lot of people). |

Cornell is off to a good start and is testing everyone on and off campus 2 x a week.

But doesn't Cornell not start until Sept 2? |
Go Cocks! |
Classes start 9/2 but freshmen have already moved in to dorms and the thousands of (out of state) upperclassmen came to the Ithaca area early by mid-August to finish the required New York State 14 day quarantine before classes start. So over 8,0000 (of 14,000 total undergrads) have already been tested (with only a handful of positives). |
| The Iowa girl should have gotten a test before going to college, knowing she had been in an ER with Covid patients. |
| Kalamazoo announced virtual today. |
Where does it say she was in an ER with covid patients?? I’m sure she had to test negative prior to moving in, but that might’ve been Mail-in meaning a long window to catch covid before move in. |
You’re contributing to the problem then. She could’ve sublet to someone if you were concerned. |
| Towson announced it 2 days ago. |
| NU no longer letting freshmen and sophomores on campus this fall. Also closing all sorority and fraternity houses (term hasn’t started yet). |
That’s sad. I think freshmen should be high priority. Seniors too for job searching. |
The colleges that are focused on freshmen are just trying to ensure they don’t defer and don’t enroll elsewhere. Introductory level classes are the easiest ones to do online from home. I am actually impressed with NU’s unique plan to bring back those that have higher level courses and labs that require on campus facilities. |
